Who created God?

it's very large number of accidents.

so large that there are a very large number that result in systems with the ability to effect further accidents.

the measure of how positive the accident was is how well it can lead to more of the same or similar.

the best accidents therefore go forth and multiply and the worst ones never happen again.

it's as inevitable as the disappointment found within each kinder surprise.

Evolution, either negatively impacting on a species or positively on another, is clearly geared towards someone's survival. Such an unquestionable drive and direction towards a single goal is not - for me - an accident. It may take place through seeming accidents, but the whole process itself is not accidental.

Protip: God doesn't exist.

Now stop worrying and get on with your life.

Funny how that when this kind of topic comes up people who say God DOES exist are told 'prove it or else it didn't happen'. Then they will be taken to pieces for exercising faith which can't be proved.

When this kind of topic comes up people who say God DOESN'T exist tell everyone else 'it didn't happen' as if it were some kind of proven fact. In this case these people are only baseing this on their own opinion with no proof either!

it's robust enough to make predictions and to build things and observe things. That does not make it correct.

It's as correct as we can get, and keeps getting better. Nothing comes even close second to its "correctness"

Yes it does look at inner workings, but Occams razor. Does mean the simplest method is right.

Occams razor theory has been overused and abused. It was meant to be used in simple cases to derive at fast results. It's not a universall truth that applies to everything under the sun. It's a quick way to determine something albeit with a wide margin for error. It's not meant to be used in critical issues in one sweep.
Science is an extremely powerful tool, but it is at the end of the day a man made tool, with boundaries.

No it can't, religion does not fall inside sciences mandate, it is like trying to fit a cube down a round pipe. it just does not work.

You can fit a cube down a round pipe if you slam it hard enough. If you apply enough force anything can happen. Hopefully we will be able to slam religion hard enough to fit it down the "fairytales of the past" tube sooner rather than later.

[Richard Dawkins claims that] purely by accident and on only one planet out of all these trillions life evolved that could think for itself.

Not quite, no. He supports the statistical observation that when there are an uncountable number of planets, the probability of not a single one of them matching the narrow criteria and set of events required for life is very small. Therefore the chance of life occurring on some planet, somewhere is very high. Earth is that "some planet".

I don't remember Dawkins stating categorically that life is present on only "one planet".

Other reading:

The Anthropic Principle was formulated as a response to a series of observations that the laws of nature and its fundamental physical constants remarkably take on values that are consistent with conditions for life as we know it rather than a set of values that would not be consistent with life as observed on Earth. The anthropic principle states that this phenomenon is actually a necessity because living observers wouldn't be able to exist, and hence, observe the universe, were these laws and constants not constituted in this way.

i'm fairly sure you'll find that evolution is as blind as a bat, has no direction, and certainly has no goal.

It's totally stupid and completely brilliant.

How do you know it is correct? you don't. it simply fits the data given.

It is the basis of science, most theorys are wrong, even ones we use today., but they still fit the data gfor most uses. Untill we get a unified theory, then most theorys are wrong. But still extremely useful.

Not without breaking it, the same applies for people wanting to rid the world of religion. you will break society and cause many more rifts.
Religion is not evil or bad. Human greed and feelings are.

Richard Dawkins is the delusional one.

He claims that out of nothing and for absolutely no reason what so ever there was a big explosion from which a 10+ dimensional reality with trillions of planets that came into being. And then purely by accident and on only one planet out of all these trillions life evolved that could think for itself. Again all of this is by accident and happened for no reason!

Yey, I am replying to magick about aliens, woot. :D

"Stephen Hawking suggests that if advanced spacefaring aliens exploit resources like humans, wed better hope they dont find us anytime soon."

Bit of a fearmonger do you not think?

*Edit.
Epic fail lol Dawkings not Hawkings. (Written with a red face of shame.)

god was created by man because of his fear of death and failiure to understand his surroundings.

as we understand more, less people create him in their heads

GOD, only exists in the mind of the 'uninformed and weak'

To those that argue against the above, proving something exists is a far more logical and intel way of thinking than proving something doesn't.. prove he exists and I'll believe lol
