Who created God?

Is God the same in all religions?

Except that he put different prophets down to different areas of the world?

Or are their 4 or 5 God's and how would they devide there devine work out?

Would God's fight to gain control of more areas?

Go play black and white it will explain everything.

No, some religions have more than one deity. it is often useful in such debates to ignore religion and use deity.

thats because many super intelligent people lack common sense :)

so all religious people lack common sense

I think you will find it hard to prove that religious people are uninformed or lack common sense. Religious people are made up from an entire cross section of society.

GOD, only exists in the mind of the 'uninformed and weak'

This what I used to think of God and religion, as a crutch for the weak and infirm.
Then I became the above and He is real. :)
As Jesus himself said, "The well do not need a doctor."

I say we settle the debate and lay a trap for the almighty all we need is some string, a stick, a box and a piece of cheese... god likes cheese right?

Genius. :)

Well let me tell you some religious facts, because this question is very very difficult. Not even Prophets can answer this question.

From Islamic point of view:

Fact:
124,000 Prophets sent to Humanity

Fact:
Only few of those Prophets talked Directly to God. One of those few Prophets was Prophet Moses (peace may be upon him), He talked to him directly and asked him to show Himself; God told him if that mountain across you stood still once I show myself then you will see me. I think you know the story....

Fact:
God stated that we created the Human brain to a certain limit of understanding, it can't go past that limit; Do not think of me, I am outside the imagination of your brain limit.

So from religious point of view, we don't know what God looks like, not even the prophets; Simply put it no one can answer this question.

Note: God described himself as the light, outside of time:
"He is Allah, the One! (1) Allah, the eternally Besought of all! (2) He begetteth not nor was begotten. (3) And there is none comparable unto Him."

So you see, your answer can't be found!

Regards,
Muzy,

But his question was whether there is one god who represented itself differently to different groups.

It would be no problem for a single deity to appear as many.

Would make sense if you saw God as simply a different form of life that considered humans/earth to be there for his own entertainment, especially if he created them.

It favors survival doesn't it? Therefore it has a goal and a direction. Yes it is blind.

the direction of any branch of evolution is governed by the environment, i.e. when climatic conditions change, resources run out, other species develop, then that evolutionary branch is driven down a different path.

it doesn't have it's own direction as it completely stateless.

if it had a goal then you could say there is a point when it would stop but it never will.

evolution doesnt favour anything, it is a side effect of the fact that the longer something does survive the more likely it is to be able to reproduce.

Was meaning more on the debate could a god exist. Most people replies are no, it's all man made. But they are talking about religion. Not a deity. If that makes sense.
