I have a lot of faith in both Namco and Capcom to do a good job of their respective releases.
Just saw this
looks like tekken characters in a SFIV style game
They are doing two games, one is with Street Fighter IV gameplay and the other is with Tekken gameplay
Capcom is developing Street Fighter X Tekken, while Namco is working on Tekken X Street Fighter. An unorthodox but appropriate approach I think!

It's true though. To make one series fit with the other you effectively have to scrap everything about the second series. In SvT I expect all Tekken characters to be bastardised modifications of Dudley as none off them will be charge characters, zoning based or have flashy special moves. In fact I reckon they will all play in a very similar fashion so there's not much to get excited about.
I'd just be happy to have more than 2 rush down characters in a modern popular fighting game.

Edit: it's not unorthodox, previous cross over games like CvS and SvC had multiple versions. MvC obviously didn't Marvel didn't have its own series.

If that kind of post was done on a phone then everyone should get phones.
That aside, I still think those two games will be awesome and they've shot up my most-wanted list

Yeah I read that earlier. Sounds about right though considering MVC3 has still to be released.

At least we have Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and Third Strike Online on the way.lol, tekken is trash mate.
But seriously though, each to their own. Two very different games and tekken has just never appealed to me whereas sf since world warrior edition has.
gameplay wise, tekken has gone down hill since tekken 3 to me, and thats more than 10 years ago!
like i always said, tekken is for people who cant play virtua fighter, a game where you cant mash anything, rock hard to pull off any decent combo and every cast is dangerous. to me this game requires more skills than anything i have played.
anyway i cant really see the tekken characters bode well is the sf4 engine, or vise versa. i can see the tekken characters being a bunch of dudley or abel clones, or they can just all play like kof characters, which is a game that i dont like very much neither.
despite all of this, i cant wait to play this game and be disappointed...but i rather have virtua fighter vs tekken, at least they are both 3d fighting game

Agreed - wish they never added juggling to Tekken - makes it seem to be an inferior fighter when its not...
