So who's got an XBOX "Slim" coming this week?

I'm not trying to be an arse, but you're just confusing people by posting incorrect information!

No worries mate i did say i,m not 100% on it myself.. My wife is the fountain of all knowledge in this area i,m just going by what she says and interperting it into my own weird language...... lol..

Wasn't going to bother until I saw this thread. Very nice. Whats sold me is the capacitive power button, though. Where Sony took that away for the PS3 Slim, M$ added it in - kudos!

You also get a little "bing" noise when you slide your finger over the eject button, thats what makes me not regret the purchase at all :D

So quiet, too :D

:O :O So many consumer electronics products, so little time! (edit: and money)

In fairness, I think this would undoubtedly improve my red dead redemption experience, because I wouldnt have my fan noise drowning out the sounds of the old west. The same cannot be said for Split/Second.

Loving my 360 slim although a bit concerned at how much heat it spews out though...will make an awesome little winter heater for my room:p...the other day i had it on and my room was pretty toasty and thats even with the room fan on.

Also loving the touch sensitive buttons and the little ping it makes when you turn it on and eject the dvd tray...so damn quiet too:p:D

Looking at trading in my PS3 for one of these, it's the fat (80gb) model, does anyone know what the trade in value would be on it?

Anybody know what the Highstreet are offering in the way of trade-ins on the older style machines? Yes I realise I've missed the boat on the best prices, but I'm just curious.

Say it was on a slightly over a year old Jasper Arcade but with a 250GB hard drive on it.

:)

Going to be getting myself one of these in the next couple of weeks, as I really need my xbox hit again. Forza needs some loving as well as assasins creed I think.

Much better out than in!

I recently acquired a 'slim' also and I am also concerned about how hot it gets around the side vent, especially when you have the in the vertical position.

Build quality seems better though, feels more solid and less 'creaky' when handling the unit, my main incentive for purchasing the slim was to lower the noise, the slim is still not 'silent' as many people claim, but is is much much better, to be fair the PSU is noisier than the system itself, but not annoyingly so, it's not a whine like my old PSU, but rather a low whooshing sound of air which is much more tolerable and in the day with ambient noise it is practically silent.

I guess we'll just have to see how long these new systems last before I pass full judgement on them.

Also I'm not sure if everyone knows this but the arcade version of the 'slim' will have 4gig internal ram and will be matt rather than gloss, I think I'll grab one of those when there available as I'd prefer matt tbh.
