Hi All

Looking to build a pc for gaming but have never done it before so don't want to spend £600 and not buy the best that i can for the money.

I would like to be able to play cod mw2 at a decent standard if possible.

Don't need operating system, keyboard, mouse or monitor as i have those:D

Thanks for your help.

Thankyou for the reply.

My last system was intel, what would you go for if it was you the amd or intel.

thankyou

I am going to say the Intel, I run the i7 which so far I am pleased with and fairly easy to overclock.

Hopefully you can get a good overclock with that board and after market cooler.

I'd go with RJCs amd option. However most games will not fully utilise X4 cpus (at the mo anyway) so money saved there would be better put towards a higher spec graphics card.

So you could opt for a X2 phenom II. The 555BE (around £80) would be good but buy an aftermarket cooler with it that would cool a X4. Here's why.....

That mobo supports ACC which can unlock hidden cores. Basically some X2 and X3 cpus are rebadged X4s. Do a lil googling on unlocking phenom cores there is plenty of info available.

If you can't unlock the cores the CPU is more than man enough for gaming. The improved heatsink will cool the CPU if it is an X4 or at the very least help overclocking it as an X2.

Hope this helps, good luck with the build
