Warcraft 3 and the frozen throne expansion

Does anyone still play this? Tempted to re install it and play it again and just wondered if the online custom games were still active? :confused:

Has to be still up their as one of the best strategy games. ;)
 
I think most of the competitive players would have moved over to SC2, as well as most of the modding community.
 
Thats a shame, tempted too just to play through the campaign again though.

^^ DOTA i was never very good at and some of the more modern ones out now i have the impression of a steep learning curve that you get flamed for trying to learn.
 
The campaign is loads of fun especially on higher difficulties. Still haven't beaten the final level on Hard :(

There's tons of tower defense maps as well, i miss all that.

Hopefully SC2 will succeed War3 in variation etc.

Yep i hated that final level too, sort of why i want to start playing it again but not sure where my discs are :(

Hmm warcraft RTS then an expansion then an mmo,

Starcraft now an expansion?? Wheres that going lol. j/k

its a non-blizzard warcraft 3 server
and i also play garena sometimes....

i've been playing dota for about 3 years now.....u should checkout eurobattle.net.....;)
 
Played DOTA until a couple of years ago, I got put off in the end by how unfriendly the community was. I might pick up SC2, waiting to see how it's adopted. A modernisation of DOTA would be quite appealing.
 
HoN took over any of my remaining desire to play DoTA again with its rather gorgeous interface (reminds me of CiV) and smooth performance.
Warcraft 3 is still a blast to play with a couple of friends though. Nothing beats being utterly annihilated and you having a gimpy hero left to fight with while trying to evade the Insane army destroying your buildings.

League of Legends is the game to play. Easy to learn and and a reasonably good community in comparison to some. Also has a huge following on this board aswell.

It should run on almost any PC too.

I would say that it is easier to pick up and generally more friendly then Heroes of Newreth.
 
I'm downloading League of Legends at the moment, looks like a good crack. I presume there's a buddy system? If so feel free to add me, I'm Makhaira. Look forwards to getting my arse handed to me!
