Whats the best way to mount the fans in the top of the Corsair 800D, having the fans
blowing air out the top or blowing in ? I'm using water cooling so what would be better for a rad ?

Atm I've got 3 red enermax magma's blowing air out but there really noisy so I'm going to get some more Sharkoon Silent Eagle probably 2000 rpm versions then I'll get a fan controller, i have one 1000 rpm and its really quite and I've read they have good static pressure ?

Why not just get the fan controller and use with the magmas? Also if you hadn't considered it, the Vipers and the fan controller. Very good static pressure and quite aswell.

I have vipers and a fan controller in mine and the you only have to turn the controller down 1/4 to get them damm near silent and still maintain some very nice temperatures (im currently air cooling my GPU and have a H50 on my CPU soon to be replaced with a water cooled loop)

Scythe Gentle Typhoon's

One of the best radiator fans around, available from the lowest 500 rpm version to the higher 1,850 rpm varient.

I'm really not sure what fans to buy i was going to get 3x 2000rpm Silent Eagle fans but now I'm thinking 1850rpm Gentle Typhoon's which every body rates very highly.

not sure if it makes sense to buy 2000rpm fans and a fan controller to turn them down to 1000 rpm when u could just buy slower ones to start, does your mobo take 4 pins ? As I have 8 * 4pin fan connectors on mobo I control the fans with it.

I don't know how anyone can say the apaches are silent let alone the venoms. I have 3 apaches on the top of my 800D blowing out (well actually 4 as 2 of them are in push pull on my H50). The cpu fan header controls the speed and most of the time they are around 970-1000rpm. That's just the way my cpu motherboards pwm control works and they are definitely not silent. Quietish I would say. And above 1k rpm they are very noticeable. And loud at 1400rpm. The Venoms are only louder. Anyway, as people have pointed out on the SPCR forums, if you want really silent fans you need to be below 1000rpm all the time in general. I have heard the Gentle Typhoons are excellent in that regard but I wanted PWM fans that my motherboard could control.
