New Grand Theft Auto may be set in Hollywood.

I really wish they would move outside of the US. Tokyo would be awesome but perhaps too similar to Yakuza.
 
They should remake Vice City, that way we can have all the awesome 80's music and style, the huge mobile phones shaped like plastic bricks, the old Ferrari's and Porsche's, Speedboats, the pastel suits, it would be awesome on the RAGE engine, especially if they gave Vice City the kind of makeover that Liberty City got, minus the tediously long car journeys between missions though.

Loads of people have been saying that but I remember playing The Getaway and thinking "wow, this is pants." Maybe it wasn't the city, but the actual game that was rubbish, the driving mechanics certainly were, the cars handled worse than a shopping trolley with a dodgy wheel, it was beyond terrible.

I totally agree about The Getaway - I had so many high hopes for it :( It was, however, made worst due to the controls :(

I think a GTA based in London would be awesome! However, I wonder how they would limit the city (I.e. Most GTAs have been an island - what's stopping you taking the M25 across down south to the M23 and making your merry way down to Brighton (or whereever :p))

It would be more than varied enough. For example there is Central which is the financial hub, then the outskirts of central which is fairly posh and then we have the 'slums' in **** Kok etc where most the gangster activity happens anyway. On top of that you can then go out into the new territories which is still heavily populated but would give decent space to play and beyond that there would be plenty of countryside too. All of that without even counting mainland China or other islands like Macau.

If they did it right it could be fantastic atmosphere and a really good playground :)

I honestly hope R* go nuts with this one, much like SA. Would be awesome with the RAGE engine. So tempted to by SA for the xbox.
