Hi does anybody that owns a GTX 470 know if any current aftermarket coolers fit?

Ive done a little research and some ppl have been reporting that they have used:

Prolimatech MK-13

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-007-PL&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=787

Im not sure if all the ram will be covered by the heatsinks included ?

Ive been looking at some of the Arctic cooling coolers that are specifically designed for the GTX 280 GTX 285 etc im not sure if this will fix a GTX 470?

There is also a Thermalright T-Rad² GTX VGA Cooler that is again designed for the GTX-200 Series/9 Series again not sure if this will fit either.

I wish somebody would release a 3rd party cooler oh the joys of fermi ;)

There is one called a 'Gelid Icy Vision' and Thermalright are releasing a bolt through kit to enable the use of certain existing models including HR03 and Spitfire. I saw another one as well but I've forgotten the name and can't remember where it was :)

Zalman VS3000F f for fermi is coming out in august, I got mine from factory installed with zotac amp! edition and it is a fantastic cooler.

Im' just using the stock fan with a profile > max fan speed 45% at 750/1500/1680 fan is still quiet at that speed, room temp at 22'c > 470 temp 60 > 62'c,. Now at 800/1600/1680 fan speed still at 45% > 470 temp 66 > 68'c > room temp at 22'c.

My case is a FTO1.

Hm thanks, what app are you using to do this?

Arctic Cooling have a new cooler coming out. It's called the Accelero EXTREME Plus I think. I might be getting it for my 465, as the Gelid Icy looks quite loud :/

I would look at Thermalright's HR03 GT or GTX and their Spitfire.

They are both mammoth, monster coolers, and have been 'certified' for use on the GTX465, 470 and 480 by Thermalright.

Also, they're working on a specific VRM cooling plate for the GTX470, similar to the ones for the GTX480, 5850/5870, GTX200 etc

I asked overclockers customer services and they said their sales guys are working on a product. I've read about the Gelid not fitting properly, and because of the expense of the card, I'm going to wait until a recommended coolers comes on the overclockers website.

Anyone have any update or experience on a good 470 cooler, yet ?

My MSI GTX470 is on air idle at 50c, benchmarking 72c at almost constant 99% load BEFORE I OC it, in an Antec 1200, setting the custom fan profile to 100% from 60c. OC it's hitting 80c.

Is that 80c something to worry about ?

OC'ed conservatively (

1025mV
800MHz Core
1600Mhz Shader
1800MHz Memory

Considering the Zalman or the Thermalright HR-03.

Trying to also pick up a Silverstone FT02B-W to gain a few degrees cooling.

Interesting vid on youtube featuring the Zalman range, note that it gives good advice no matter which product you use on some hidden screws on both the 470s and 480s :

Zalman range on Youtube, including the VF3000F for 470/480, underlining hidden screws on said

I like the look of this but I can't find anyone stocking it (VF3000F).

Planning on stocking this OCuK ?

I have found a site that is taking in pre-orders, but for obvious reasons i cant name the site, but they are expecting them in 20 days!

Sure you don't mean they are expecting 20 in two weeks ? >< (One of the pre-orders is mine ;) ) Could be a different site I guess.

They are damn expensive though, wherever you get them. $80 from the US or just over £50 here.

Also :

Youtube vid I found linked elsewhere on these forums comparing the Gelid, Zalman (it's on the Zotec) and stock coolers

PS Didn't notice at first that the product code is the same for the 480 and the 470/465 versions (both are VF3000F). Careful not to order a VF3000F and get the wrong one.
