Hi,

I've been a long time user of Natwest OLB and up until tonight have been perfectly happy with it. Before you would enter your customer number, PIN and password and all would be fine. Now though in addition to the above they also ask for your full card number, CCV, expiry date etc.

At first I thought it was a spoof site but no, it's legit.

Anyone else finding this a pain in the arse?

It's the same for me, are you sure you haven't got you Pin/password wrong recently and their asking you to re-verify your account? I had this recently after I got a digit in my password wrong recently twice, and I had to redo this. Once done I haven't had to do it since.

Just logged into mine and it's still the same old Customer Number/PIN/Password to authenticate.

If they are rolling out card number, CCV etc then that's way over the top and will just be annoying.

Pretty sure youve just been phished, its not changed for me and having to put all those details in just seems very suspect to me

I thought this so I rang customer services to verify, they told me that through their system they can see I was locked out, and this is normal if you are locked out.

Indeed, this immediately sprang to mind but I tried on another laptop with different browser and I get the same result. Also the URL is https://www.nwolb.com ... etc.

Still, very strange that none of you are getting this?

You know what, I think I deserve this. The more I play, the more obvious it seems like a scam. But how the hell can this happen when the URL shown in the top looks perfectly legit including the certificate etc? I also have NOD32 and Spyware Doctor installed, so I'm at a loss as to how I could have done any more to prevent accessing a phishing site.

Read what I said above.

It probably is not a scam, you have got your pin/password wrong previously and it re-verifys you. Ring up customer services tomorrow and they will confirm this. If its on two laptops, and you went to www.natwest.com from both, this is what will of happened.

If i fail my password 3 times it locks me out..

to reactivate it i can immediately use my bank account details, sort code and debit card details.

ive never screwed it up past that point more than once so you might have reached a point where you must contact CS to reactivate?

sounds totally legit!

asking for full card details etc on every login is as secure as you can get even a keylogger wont be able to catch you out.

oh wait

Hate Natwest.

Barclays ***, put card in card reader, enter pin to reveal security number which you enter onto website and you're logged in. Job done.

that would mean me needing to carry my reader around all the time, whereas with natwest I can happily log in on my phone or anywhere else no problems

Nope, I'm now certain it's a scam. It should have been so obvious when it asked for my full card number, but with it being 1am and everything looking 'as it should' I simply went ahead and gave some Nigerians the details they needed!

Shall give Natwest a call in a second to cancel my card and am giving my PC a full sweep with NOD32 & Spyware Doctor (even though this crap is supposed to scan in real time ffs!)
