Yes Or No - 330Ci M Spot Auto?

oh damn, School holidays, is that why it is up on sale then, just in time for me wanting to change more than ever?

Maybe i should just get the 2.2TDCi Mondeo and be done with it :P

At that mileage I'd be a bit worried about the automatic gearbox, they are made of cheese.

ok, this is the sort of info i come here for, thank you.
I think i will have a look around it and see what the score is.

What should i be looking out for?

You can't really tell normally - maybe look for a clunk when you select/engage reverse. What normally happens is that you lose reverse on these gearboxes, have a look on e46fanatics.com and there is a lot of info about it there. My current car, a 325i automatic had the problem and the gearbox was replaced at 130,000 miles by the previous owner.

The Mondeo is not more exclusive at all, Ford sold more Mondeo than BMW sold 3 series Coupe.

Hang on, on Top Gear a few years back they had a bit on the new 3 series and they said that the e46 sold more than the mondeo.

There we go.

Meaningless though as the Mondeo was not available as a coupe or cab.

Comparing like with like, ie 4/5 door Mondeo versus 4/5.door e46 and there are more Mondeo.

No. 28k car that you have owned and looked after from new vs 95k BMW that could have been used and abused.
It might make sense if you were changing to something special or a completely different kind of car .. but it's really not.
A BMW is going to cost you a fair bit more to run (servicing etc) anyway, before you consider the mileage ... Lets face it, although engines may be capable of doing many more miles, there are plenty of bits on the car that will be well past their best.

Take the same cars fast forward 5 years add 100k to each, what would they be worth and how much would you have spent in servicing / repairs etc?

You went to Ford looking for an ST and ended up with a 2.5 Mondeo and now you're thinking of making the same mistake and buying an auto BMW with high mileage for the year?

No.

Get a car you'll be happy with in the first place rather than a convenient car that caught your eye
