EA backstabs pc gamers. Battlefield 3 console game

...which mostly occur in pc games (e.g. 'free' mmos, etc), not console games.

I'm failing to see the point... either that, or you're failing to make a point.

Micros transactions for a free game are fine. For a game you paid for is completely different.

Thats not the point anyway. BF games are getting worse and dumbed down for the console crowd. If you don't mind this then good for you.

Bad comapny 2 was good, but it was no BF2 successor. The two games were very different, BC2 was more arcade-y and simplified than BF2, but was much faster paced thanks to this.

Since BF3 is being released on the consoles as well this means it's going to have to run on console hardware as well, which means it's likely to have smaller maps, fewer players and less vehicles than BF2.

I hope it doesn't turn out to be BC2 re-skinned, and that BF3 will have full 64 player maps with a proper command system like (ala BF2), but I have my doubts :(

Holy Batman on a stick, is this what we are now becoming? A whining bunch of elitists who keep thinking that we deserve special treatment despite the obvious financial shortcomings of the market? I never for a second doubted that this would be a cross platform game.

Support was far from perfect but it was still a long way away from the era of just a few years ago when console ports were unplayable without a joypad (e.g. Resident Evil 4).

Well they released a game and barely tested it, one of the devs claimed that the heli flares were working in the pc version of BC2, because he tested it on the 360 version. Did they ever get around to fixing the garand with kills not registering? And on the subject of that, remember when it went missing for around a month with no explaination given?

Their standards have slipped and the debacle that was the bc2 launch was laughable considering the game was delayed by around 5 months for "polish".

I don't mind it at all. I've always just played the BF games (including 1942 and 2) as a nice relaxing break from games that require more skill.

And yet so many of you bought it for the PC. Complaints aside, surely you are all having fun playing it? I know a lot here still play it.

Well you're gonna have a hard time playing it online on pc without buying it, most of us assumed that the problems would be ironed out with the assload of "beta" feedback that they got. I play it occasionally but its plain for anyone to see that player and server counts have dropped dramatically.

The whole promise of battlefield 3 was that it was developed with the PC in mind with features and gameplay and then consoles afterwards, there is NO MENTION what-so-ever that this isn't the case, you're making false assumptions on just a beta being announced for the xbox360.

When features in the game are announced that show that the game is "consolized" then please, bitch and moan all you like (I will be joining you), but until then lets stop crying over a beta being announced.

I don't see why being annoyed by this is PC elitism. The earlier games in the series were PC only so it would stand to reason 3 would be too. In fact, it makes less sense that they've made the new one a multiplatform release as many console players will have no experience with the series. As such, it's a needless use of IP title-wise.

But yeah, I am dismayed by this. I'd rather consoles had BFBC as a console-only release and PC BF. Everybody would be happy then. At the end of the day PC and Console are different beasts and certain games suit each better. The homoginising effect of multiplatform releases doesn't benifit either type of gamer.

You obviously have never played an MMO then :p. Never assume a final release game will be any different from the beta stages. PC games seem to get rushed out these days.

Um, why? Why should everybody not get a chance to play it?

experience with the series? How does that affect a multiplayer game? I haven't noticed it affecting the Call Of Duty series being a success on console.

I dont think I care what platform it comes out on.

If support and patches come as thick and fast as they did with bad company 2 which was only building on a thoroughly tested and highly polished game on release, then they already got my money

You're being silly. It would be better to have titles that catered for both platforms than one mixed-bag title. Hence the original reason for BFBC and BF being seperate.

Think about what you're writing before posting it. tsk.

If you expected BC2 to be any different to BF2 or BF2142 I pity you, this is how the franchise is and always has been, there is little to no support.
