i'm trying to install the Corsair H50 onto my Gigabyte P55A-UD4 motherboard but the backplate will not go on. none of the holes will line up, regardless of what way i put the backplate. and the included diagram that shows the 1156 layout for the backplate is totally wrong.

any ideas?

Have you put the metal grommits in the right holes for 1156 setup?

there are 3 holes on each corner of the plastic backplate, u must ensure the metal screws are on the 1156 one (labelled on the plastic)

There was an issue with the supplied manual. There is an adapter supplied but they labeled it wrong in the user guide.

I remember coming across this when i was researching it as a possible cooler for my rig. I'm sure it was a youtube video that pointed it out to me.

Hope this helps

yes i have placed them in the correct holes to the diagram and to no luck, i've tried nearly every possible way and it doesnt seem to fit in smoothly.

i can force the backplate on in a certain screw setup but it brings tention to the backplate and the motherboard. also the backplate becomes offset.

I had this problem on my 1156 socket, it felt kind of twisted and off angle.

Took some patience but once i started screwing it up its pulled it together.

Its not as perfect as the 1366 where it feels like its made for the socket.
