I'd rather say keep saving money until you've got ~450-500. Then you can buy something interesting including new OS, if *really* needed, and if your games run really crappy. Don't be one of THEM who decrease computer lives and push the whole business to develop more, quicker and faster. Have a time to enjoy what you have

loads. I'm still running my c2d that i got when they first came out with 2gb ram.

Hell my parents still get by on a P4 HP computer with 512mb of ram.

It's probably better to wait the next gen, Sandybridge / Bulldozer. Your system should carry you there, and it will be a good time to upgrade, while you save up some dough.

I'd say go to W7, clean install plus better OS, your hardware is fine for now.

Well if you wanted a bit of a boost you could pick up a core 2 quad cheap second hand and upgrade from Vista

Yeah i would say the hardware is still good, make the move to Win7 and get off vista its a change you really will not regret
