I've Gone to the dark side...

Lovely car, lovely colour (same as my LCR). You should definately get it mapped, I would get mine mapped but dunno how much longer I'm gonna have it so no point now, wish I had done it sooner :(

Mates just paid £8k for exactly the same with 12k on it, he's not interested in anything else, according to him it's a rebadged VW anyway

It is a rebadged VW.

8k though :\ I thought these things were supposed to be the cheap alternative to Golfs ;)

Why would being a rebadged VW justify spending 8k on it

He asked my opinion on what to buy,

BMW - too old
Anything with 40k+ - too high mileage
Ford - ooooooo no thanks rep mobiles

In his head he was buying a VW, wether that be witha SEAT badge on it or not, don't know why really he asked me if he had made his mind up.

His words, so you'd spend £8k on a 'old' BMW with 'high' mileage :p me - yep :)

I'd be much warier of a car that's averaged 2k per year than one thats averaged 10k per year! What daft thinking...

So anything made by Ford is for Reps but Vw's or Seats aren't.

Sorry but ROFL!

Many people ask my opinion because they think I know a little about cars, and 90% of the time it's allways the same, it's a VW it'll be OK, Mondeos ooooo NO, older BMWs no thanks

They are quite happy chopping their car in with the dealer, paying top whack, taking the finance, taking the gap insurance, taking the depreciation and then rinse and repeat in 5 years

Cheers for the comments chaps, obviously a diesel hatchback for £5650 isn't going to be everyones idea of a great purchase, however 1) I love the looks of Mk1 Leons, particularly the facelift and R models, 2) Test driving it the difference in performance was not actually as much as I'd believed - quite pleasantly suprised 3) my road tax has halved, the insurance is lower, and the mpg is significantly better than the 20VT I had before.

Anyway - on to my dilemma

My road tax has expired today, and I have to take my current car to the dealership 80 miles away tomorrow to pick up the new car (part ex). I have paid for 12 months tax on the new car ( I have the receipt and documentation)

So - Am I entitled to any grace period to cover me for this journey ?
