What's your view of the Mazda CX-7 2.3T

I dunno I quite like the look of it, and was thinking of going for it. Anyone here drive one or heard anything from people who own one?

It's the most weird car ever, an mpv thing where the only engine choice was a 250bhp turbo. Nobody bought one so now the only engine is a diesel.

Heh, yeah I notice that, I've seen this car a few times whilst driving and it always seems to grab my attention like an Audi r8 would.

The Q7 is a lovely bit of car too. It is out of my price range and I don't like it's sister version I think its called the Q5?

Cause I had enough of 3 lane traffic light areas where just after the lights it goes into one lane so I want a family car that can do something, give me a fighting chance against the other 10 billion golf's, polos and focus's.

Look if you are laughing at my lack of knowledge of cars, it really doesn't bother me, I do not know all the technical words obsessed car fans would use and that is why I am here asking the motoring forum.

Most cars come with a clutch pedal, which you press in with your left foot. This allows you to change from gear 1 to gear 2 and go faster. Top speed in first gear is largely irrelevant. It might be 100mph, but if it takes 10 minutes to get there, you'll still lose your traffic light race.

What I'm saying is, as with my current car I've noticed on gear one it will struggle to do anymore then 24mph and that's when I'd have to switch gear. So this is all I wanted to know, would there be a way of finding this information out on the CX-7.

That's normal dude, you're meant to change before then.

Sorry I worded that wrong, yes you are correct it's normal. Would there be a way of finding out what the CX-7's max would be before having to change the gear without of course me going for a drive in it.

Most "standard" cars will run out of revs at about that. I'm still not sure how it's relevant. The better indication of how fast it is is a standard 0-60 time, which in the case of a CX-7 is about 8 seconds, which puts firmly into "luke-warm" territory.

If the Focus you are hoping to beat off the lights is an ST, you'll lose. If it's a standard 2.0 model, you'll win.
