What's your view of the Mazda CX-7 2.3T

Most "standard" cars will run out of revs at about that. I'm still not sure how it's relevant. The better indication of how fast it is is a standard 0-60 time, which in the case of a CX-7 is about 8 seconds, which puts firmly into "luke-warm" territory.

If the Focus you are hoping to beat off the lights is an ST, you'll lose. If it's a standard 2.0 model, you'll win.

Alright thanks for the help.

Sorry I worded that wrong, yes you are correct it's normal. Would there be a way of finding out what the CX-7's max would be before having to change the gear without of course me going for a drive in it.

You will break it if you drive in first everywhere!

I can see what you are trying to do but really, it doesn't work like that. Perhaps an auto might be a better choice?

Fixed.

But yes, a traffic light GP in something like the Mazda CX-7 isn't really the best of starting points.
