Ah, but what if the Focus is driving everywhere in first, bouncing off the limiter on the M5?
Most "standard" cars will run out of revs at about that. I'm still not sure how it's relevant. The better indication of how fast it is is a standard 0-60 time, which in the case of a CX-7 is about 8 seconds, which puts firmly into "luke-warm" territory.
If the Focus you are hoping to beat off the lights is an ST, you'll lose. If it's a standard 2.0 model, you'll win.
Sorry I worded that wrong, yes you are correct it's normal. Would there be a way of finding out what the CX-7's max would be before having to change the gear without of course me going for a drive in it.
