For those who live in a flat...washing question.

Just wondering for those who live in a flat, is it easy to do washing? Does it normally dry quite quickly? Does it damage the walls at all due to the clothes drying...i mean surely the water has to go somewhere? :o
 
I so want to take the mick ...... but I shall not. ;)

You will find that a flat has the same drying qualities as a house.

Washing machine + radiators + good ventilation = sorted.
 
Most people who live in flats have a dryer (like myself) so you can get the most of it done with that, Have a clothes horse with the windows open.

not too bad tbh.

When I lived in a flat the clothes horse was perfectly fine, stuff was dry in 24hours tops!
 
I have a top floor maisonette and I tend to put the washing on the airer in the hall way, handy in the winter as it's right in front of the Rad.
 
Get a clothes airer. Helps your stuff dry quicker whilst taking up less space. There are only so many radiators you can put your stuff on. I've got this one and it does the job:

I live in a flat with no radiators (well, those stupid economy wall heaters that would set fire to clothes) and no tumble dryer.

All the washing machine/dryer does is spin & heat them so they come out hot but still quite wet.

Clothes horses for the win.
 
Actually, if you live in a place where you dont have to pay for electric. Use a hairdryer to dry the clothes, like I did :D

I haven't lived in a flat before and always had outside space for drying clothes. I asked my Dad - he lives on the 6th floor - and he was saying that it can be tricky at times so normally they get everything tumble dried. I can't really afford to do that, so i was curious if there was any real difference.

Just make sure you have a window open

You clothes will have a musky and quite dodgy smell if locked in a room while drying.
