Just seen this in my junk mail from blizzard

get an authenticator if you want to keep your battle.net account and then you can simply ignore all emails.

use spybot and anti malware in safemode "to get into safemode press F8 on boot up" to search for hidden trojans sometimes antivirus programs dont pick all the problems up.

Create a new email address, then change your WoW account to this new address and use it for nothing else.

Then set up a rule in your original email that any email that contains the word Blizzard, Warcraft and Account goes straight to your trash.

Then you can set up to import the new emails from the new account straight into the old one and nothing will be amiss.

Doesn't every forum and every program everywhere always say "if you did not initiate this request ignore this email". ?
if i remember right you can change an email address aslong as you know the user/password and no actual link to for changing the email adress if sent to the email address currently registred with the account only to the new email address.

I get a LOT of spam emails about WoW and I haven't played for a while.
When I initially gave up my account got stolen twice about a month and then 3 months after giving up. I have no idea how it happened since no one knew my password or had any pictures of my ID, or any CD keys :(
I've had about 3 accounts hacked so far and never had any viruses or keyloggers installed on my computer or signed up for dodgy sites.

when you change your email address they send a confirmation link to the currently registered email address. If they dont have access to your inbox they cannot change your email IIRC

maybe they changed it since i was keylogged then or maybe it was because my account was already a bnet one.

first i knew of it was when i checked my mail and found out someone had turned my account into bnet on a completly different email address than the one i had registred on my wow account

Clicking these links generally if always does nothing, unless you're stupid enough to then start entering your account details or download stuff.

Always check email headers in full if you honestly can't tell the difference.

best to never click the links and type the address you know into your browser, always use noscript when browsing the wow mod sites

I'd never in my life gotten one of these, until about a month ago, now I get about three or four a week.

The only thing I can think of that I did a month ago was re-sub to Aion, scarily enough :)

I get these all the time.

I just hover of the link and look at where it's going to be taking me...

Normally it's something like...

goingtostealyourdetails.lol.hahaha.newblet.worldofwarcraft.accountmanagement.com

:p

I've suddenly started getting these. I'm not sure why since I haven't been subbed to WoW for years.

Still, some of these aren't actually badly done. I've found gmail is pretty good for things like this though since it tells me that it's been sent from a hotmail account.

I've been getting about 2-3 fake Blizzard emails a day now that change every couple of weeks. I am now sick of them but it seems there is nothing I can do.

All this for trying to sell my account once and providing my email address on gumtree.

I made the mistake of logging into my B.net account from a works PC. Seems it was infected and my account was compromised/lost all my gear gold etc.

I got it all back but since I get endless Blizzard/WoW, NCSoft etc fake emails. Kind of annoying :p

I got an authenticator after, well worth the money and is usable for your B.net account and any associated games.

I've had my account stolen once, he also took my hotmail, gained access to my paypal and withdrew loads of money. I got it all back in the end but it was a pain in the ass.

These people are just scum and I really wish something could be done about them but as they are prob from china or some other foreign **** hole its hard to do much as their country don't really care!
