Am I the only person that thinks the front of the 458 is a bit meh.

It is probably amazing to drive and everything but I don't think it looks as good as they are saying.

Didn't like the front of the 458 when the first press images came out, the lights made it look a little Japanese, however since then the design has grown on me massively, look forward to seeing some around my area soon.

Aren't all Ferraris a bit meh. The front looks a lot better than the rear.

Not a super car like a zonda or others
and not a epic looking tourer like an aston martin

I think thats going to become one of the all time beauty's.

It can be difficult to judge cars from pictures alone. I thought it was a bit meh but then I saw one.

It looks stunning in the flesh, and it sounds epic.

Ah i see, yes i'd consider most of the "mainstream" Ferrari range to be quite conservatively styled, i can only imagine this is to appeal to the longer lived Ferrari buyers along with the new money.

The silver prancing horse on the front disappointed me when I had a nosey around one, looked really cheap and tacky, the wheels could be better too I think, but other than that it looks very nice externally.

The interior is really really nice though, was very impressed with it.

Yeah I see what you mean, from the front it looks a lot like the Honda HSV-010 (Race car based on the NSX 2 platform) but Clarkson reckons its even better than an F40 and if that's true then that alone makes it fantastic, if it lives up to the hype then It could well be one of those cars that becomes engraved in your memory (i.e Countach, Testarossa, F40, XJ220, McLaren F1, etc)

to get so close to the Enzo's time both at Fiorano (with ferrari test driver on board) and at the TG track with the stig driving says a lot.

Fiorano times are 1min24.9 for the Enzo and 1min25.00 for the 458.

As clarskon said they havent just moved the game on, its a colossal evolutionary jump.

For comparison purposes the F40 record is 1min29, the F50 1min27

Awesome piece of kit.
