Right, gonna get an iphone 4.

So far my preference is a 12 month Tesco deal:

Handset 16gb black at £349.99.
Then £20 a month for: 250mins, unlimited texts, 1gb internet usage and unlimited openzone wifi.

ANyone now of anywhere equal to or better than this? I would prefer 12 month contract and so dont mind paying extra for the handset.

Also does anyone know how much I could expect for my iphone 3g 8gb (MODS I AM NOT SELLING A PHONE AS I KNOW IT IS AGAINST FORUM RULES. I AM ENQUIRING INTO PEOPLES EXPERIENCES OF HOW MUCH I COULD EXPECT WHEN I SELL)

According to Money Saving Expert Tesco has the best deal in terms of overall costs. You pay more upfront than say O2, but with O2 you end up paying more in monthly payments and you get less minutes.

So Tesco then? Only thing is I phoned my local tesco they are 'unooficially' expecting some mroe tomorrow but there is a waiting list of 88. He said they ring, give them an hour and if they dont turn up go to the next customer. Asked if I strolled in with cash am would he do me one he said no. sigh

It wont be long before there are plenty to go around. I will be looking in about 3 weeks! Going to see if O2 can match Tesco's offer since I have been with O2 for years and years.

Tesco uses O2's network anyway so should be no different for me switching.

I'm with 02 and have been for a while and was told on the phone they wont do me any deals etc. They also dont offer a 12 month contract at present unless you buy the handset payg then get a 12 month simplicity deal.

Essentially I was told these are the tariffs like it or lump it. SO I will be lumping it all the way to Tesco who as you say use the same network. Sully of 02 really.

ANyone know where I can get the above deal form Tesco anywhere else?

ON the waiting list with Tesco but number 90 and they have had about a dozen handsets in in 2 weeks.

I'm waiting for Tesco - except that I'm not going on a waiting list as there's no way I can get to a phone-selling Tesco store within an hour of them calling - I have work etc. Thinking of giving up and getting it on another network, but then if I do that I'll (a) regret not doing it sooner and (b) feel like I'm being ripped-off in comparison.

I got mine on tesco and just got my £33 of tesco money in the post so thats a weeks shopping and petrol for free thanks to my iphone :-D

i think tesco is the best over all deal and only a 12 month contract.

so after 12 months you can get the next iPhone or go on to pay and go and have a very cheap monthly bill

£33 Tesco money - is there additional bonus points etc for buying the tesco deal?

Darn Tesco, why can't they ahve stock like right now! So annoyed. Went inot town and asked around if anyone would match it.

I've been phoning Tesco for about 3 weeks. First I was told they were getting some after 2 weeks. Now they don't know when they're getting any.

Any idea when Apple will be sending out another batch? Apparently the iphone is sold out everywhere...

walked past a vodafone, orange and t-mobile shop today all had signs in the window saying iPhone 4 in stock today! seems only tesco have stock problems

ive been going in since the release date... They have NEVER had any phones when i've been in. (mornings and lunchtime).

However i DO believe they are lying, they do have them in the warehouse but only selling them to people on the list?

Staff discounted contract for me makes it even better
£30 pm
£260 for 32gig phone
750mins, unlimited everything else
12 months.

hmmm thats 1/2 what i would pay on orange, for the same minutes/txts etc... But Orange have them in stock, and Tesco doesnt :(

Everyone has them in stock apart from Apple and Tesco. Even 3 and t-mobile now have stock. Apple are quoting three weeks for stock so I'd imagine tesco is likely to be the same. Some stores are keeping waiting lists of up to 90 people and are operating a strict policy in which if you're not in the store within an hour of them calling you they will move to the next person in the queue.

I gave up on Tesco tonight and bought it on Orange.

Not quite - for £40 a month you can get 900 minutes on a 18 month contract. You'll also get a substantially better 3g signal availability as Tesco use O2's network. Texts will be capped at 500, but are you really likely to use more? You'll only pay £9 more for the phone itself.

i use 600-1000 txts a month, and about 60minutes talk time. Orange have always been very tight with there txt allowances.

Orange 18x40=720 + extra for phone and less txts or mins
vs
Tesco 12x30=360

Ive been with orange for over 10 years and they take the **** sometimes. like free txts but having to pay for reports etc. Im currently on a £25 contract and pay between 45 and 60 a month for a shoddy N85. I basically cant wait to get away. Also the contract being only 12 months means i can move back if i feel i need to.

But then i could get the phone tomorrow from orange...
