E46 330 Facelift headlights

Hiya,

Need to clean the headlights but no idea how to remove them, the dirt is on the inside of the glass so im going to need to take them apart, anyone done this before or have any tips on what I need to do ?

Can you? On the E39 they are sealed.

How would dirt get into them?

Coupe or Saloon? If saloon, then yes, it is very easy to remove the fronts - just unclip them.

It's a cabrio, so Coupe.

Facelift ones are sealed iirc so you'd need to do the old heat and reseal job

Yup just seen your post on e46zone. Need heating up with a hot air gun or hairdryer to release the lens from the unit.

Damn, don't really like the idea of heating up a lump of plastic, the insides of the glass are filthy though and think its because of that my dip beam seems pretty weak.

Facelift headlights are not great anyway. You could always loom out for a Set of xenon headlights.

are you sure the dirt is on the inside ??

They are sealed units, they're airtight. Dirt cant get inside them !!

Are you sure the plastic hasnt just been scratched ? If so polish them up with meguiars plast-x

Facelift headlights are not great anyway. You could always loom out for a Set of xenon headlights.

They are good, though I recall retrofitting not being a straightforward task. There are guides online to do it though
