Oh man some American football next week... at last

Off season feels like an eternity, can't wait for it all to get started again.

Looking forward to seeing how my Redskins do this year after an awful 4-12 season last year. Big transition Changing from a 4-3 Defence to a 3-4, Donovan Mcnabb as QB with Kyle Shanahans Offence.

The sleeping giant is awake, Bring on them Cowgirls week 1

Hail Skins!

Anyone else looking forward to the upcoming NFL season?

Its Mike Shanahan! And you really need to get rid of Big Albert as he aint a nose tackle and doesn't want to play nose tackle ('failed' the conditioning test 3 times now claiming his knee is bum) I agree though, bring on Americas Team!

Looking forward to seeing what happens out West this year, 49ers and Chiefs have both made astute signings. Have to make sure I lap up as many games as possible this year what with the impending labour dispute potentially writing off the 2011 season already.

Worthless, he came close to passing the conditioning test the first time, missed out by 1 second but tbh i think Mike Shanahans just putting his foot down and claiming some payback for being messed about in mini camp. 300 yards in 70 seconds first rep and 2nd rep 73 seconds for somebody who is the highest paid player we have, he should be able to pass that anyway.

Think Kemoeatu will play NT. We gonna shift Fat Albert over to Defensive End.

When you wrote "Its Mike Shanahan!" did you mean his offence? because you're right, It will be his version of the west coast offence but seeing as his son Kyle is the offensive coordinator making all the plays and schemes , think you knew what i meant :)

Yeah I'm looking forward to seeing the new Chiefs safety Eric Berry this year, he looked a beast in the draft. Interesting to see how good the Broncos receiving core will be this year without Brandon Marshall.

I've only read a little about the labour dispute, Isn't it something about this years uncapped year and players benefits?

What NFL team do you support?

cheers

Any idea if Channel 5 have definitely dropped their coverage this year? Might be the first season in years where I don't see any :(.

Ahhhh it feels like forever since the Superbowl.

Been watching loads of "America's Game"s that I had saved up on the V+ box from ages ago. Being fairly young I had no idea about most of the past teams from pre 2000 so it's a great way to learn the history of the sport.

Liking Indy's chances for a Superbowl repeat this year. Should be the same team with Bob Sanders back (for a couple of games before injury at least).

Planning on going to Colts vs Chargers or Cowboys this year when I go visit my girlfriend in the states in November.

Anyone got tickets for NFL UK again?

They aren't on sale at the moment. I missed the first round of sales, but I think more will be available come September.

Just been trying to find out info on whether Five will be showing any NFL this year and I can't see anything that confirms it either way. So fingers crossed on a last minute deal I guess :(.

Yeah looking forward to it, probably try and get to a few Chargers games now they're only a couple hours away :D

The wife is a UCLA grad and a mad fan so will be watching (and going to) plenty of College Bowl games too - I prefer it sometimes, you get more 'champagne' plays and high-scoring games as the defence tends to be a bit leakier than in the pro games.

Good times though :D

I don't believe anything about Favre until the season starts. But more inclined to believe this than previous years as he has beaten the Packers which is pretty much the only reason he signed on last year.

College starts in 2 weeks, hopefully ESPN's coverage will be a lot better than this years MLB.

Seeing as sky's NFL deal is always very last minute, hopefully C5 will come to some arrangement as pretty much all NFC East matches are prime time Sunday.

You have to be an NFL UK member and register interest for tickets until they go on general sale for Wembley game

I maintain that fat albert is desperate to get out of Washington, and Mike will be writing the first 20 odd plays as he has always done.

And Indy are quite possibly making arod for their own back in making Payton the highest paid player as there are other contracts coming up in the next 2 years that need addressing (look at which players are not attending camp) and Mathis has said he will be royally annoyed if they franchise him again instead of paying him his money

Cheers for the info, will register there and see what happens

I agree with you about Albert and after all his BS i still want him on our Defence, I don't think his stats have been that hot since his pro bowl in 07 but a fully fit Hainsworth could be a Beast for us.

I am really looking forward to seeing our new Offence. I've seen what Mikes offence can do but I am intrigued to what Kyle has in mind though, his offence put up some tidy numbers in Houston last season. We are weak at WR though, just hope Devin Thomas will step and have a break out year for us.

We are home to the Bills next friday, whats your teams first pre-season game?

As a Vikes fan, I'm praying Favre makes it. Please please please.

Also, really excited to see Su has finally signed for the Lions and can get into action. I think he, McCoy, Bradford and Tebow are going to be in for some massive pressure this year. Bradford especially.

San Diego's newly drafted RB is in for it too - anyone who has to replace LT has my sympathy.

Isn't the latest Favre rumour that he doesn't want to come back until after the Vikes bye week. So he misses the road game at NO and home games to MIA and DET? Someone even said (at work) that he didn't/couldn't come back until week 9 missing a very tough schedule.

NE's pre season is home to NO and STL and road games against ATL and NYG. a rebuilding year for us though, especially with Burgess holding out and other changes in the secondary. Mankins holding out and contract talks seemingly non existent with Brady (he desperately wants to know what is going to happen to Manning) at least Wilfork has resigned and welker is on the mend.

What rotation of div's do the Redskins have? NE have NFC North, AFC North and IND and SD which is a pretty tough schedule by anyone's standard.

Yeah thats a very tough schedule, a lot tougher then ours but I don't think you have to worry too much about NE's chances of making the playoffs, I think NE's made the playoffs every year except 2000? (correct me if i am wrong) and that was in the old AFC East with The Colts being there. You've got a great team with a great QB and a great Coach, I'll be very surprised if you don't win your division this year.
I will be looking out for NE as they are a tidy team and always exciting to watch.

Redskins have NFC North, AFC South aswell as our own Division NFC East, which imo is one the toughest if not the toughest division in the NFL.

I'd love for us to have a 10-6 season but realistically i'd be over the moon with an 8-8 or 7-9.
Just hope for a better season this year, theres no way i can take another 4-12 again.

What's Sky Sports coverage like? Tempted to get a NFL Game Pass but they are expensive!

It's not bad, but not brilliant.

Gamepass has it's problems too - like not working a lot of the time due to traffic demand. I had it once and it was great, but I've heard it was really sucky at the start of last year. If you are going to buy it, wait a week to see it works well in week 1 before you pay money. The best thing about it is switching from a dull game to a better game whenever you like. Remember you wont be able to watch the two games Sky show though.

Cheers for the info Sammo ;)

I probably should have checked around before buying it. NFL Network looks pretty sweet on it at the moment though lets hope it's not too laggy with traffic demands come game time.
