Hi Guys,

Ive recently built a new system. However im crap at cable management all the cables are just pushed to one side inside the case no cable management at all really. And after putting my new 5970 in yesterday it is rather messy.

I would be willing to pay for a kind someones help in getting all this nice and neat for me.

I live in the north east area of UK (Middlesbrough). and will travel to you and give you a cosey 50 nicker for helping/showing me how to achieve a cable free case...

Thanks! :D

The case does make a big difference. If you have no holes around the motherboard area then you will always struggle to get the cables looking tidy. It may end up looking like this

Or you could make your own holes.

To route around the back you may need extension cables.

Or cheaper unbraided ones http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-022-AK

Here's my old case with very few opportunities for cable management.

And with some limited cable management opportunities in a P183, still needs some work of course but it's acceptable.

It's not really that difficult, just take one group of cables at a time.

My case is an antec 902.. And I would much rather pay someone experienced to do it for me.. :D

Anyone? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Will post pics later on.. bfbc2 on my new 5970 is getting the better of me..

With a 902 you should not really be struggling to do cable management because there is loads of holes on the case for cables to go...tbh do you really need to do the cables? you suffering with high temps?....post some pictures and then we can recommend where to put the cables....

Just put all the cables coming from the PSU straight out the hole right next to it, from there just bring in the cables you need and cable tie where appropriate.

My build if it will help;

Nowhere near perfect, but should give you a rough idea.

Should be able to do it yourself if you post pictures of the mess here for people to tell you what to do with it.

It's not too hard to do, I just mine this morning cos I put a new PSU in. It's frustrating but if you spend like 3 hours doing it you'll have yourself 50 notes :p

Is that a H50? What temps are you getting with it, as it only has one fan, and looks like it's stock? :O

One-by-one route the cables through the holes in your case, you should be able to hide a LOT of them

Yes its a h50.. I thought thats how there supposed to be ran? Its using the fan that come with it, sucking air into the case onto the rad.. Is there a better way of doing it ?

I've recently changed the paste on it to MX-3 and I wish I left it alone as im getting worse temps than I was with standard paste.. It now idles about 40/42.. goes to 65 max in games..

Looks just like mine. :D

At the very least just cable tie them together and then to the hard drive rack or something to free up some space. The best way is to route them behind the motherboard tray. I'd personally give it a go and use the NZXT extension cables to make it look really slick and sexy. ;)

Yeah I use the NZXT cables, I have 4 PCI-E power ones, a 24 and 8 pin motherboard ones and they make things look tidy :)

I'd recommend investing in some cable ties aswell, they come in use.

I'll post some pics and suggestions tomorrow when I can be bothered to :p

This is exactly what the OP should be doing. You can see a lot of power cables as well as motherboard headers not utilising that hole right next to the PSU.

It's almost as bad as mine :o athough I think mine is about as bad as it can get... I haven't got any extension cables, and to get everything plugged in, I need the extra length. (also in need of a good dusting)

:eek::eek::eek::eek:

went from this god awful mess...

to this......

simply by feeding all the psu cables out the back of the motherboard tray, granted I had to use a dremmel and make the hole a bit bigger. but still a decent improvement and I'm a total noob at this, so if i can do it anyone can ;)

so BORO ROB its all well within your capabilities :D

p.s ignore the date and time stamp on the 2nd pic, dunno why it showed up as it has
