Anyone on 3?

Why don't you find out? They have an antenna upgrade/rollout program that is still ongoing. And the people at headoffice (blog.three.co.uk) have stated that one of the issues they have had for years is that people would rather moan than actually tell them the locations where their signal is weak.

where in the country are you then? you hear a few bad things about three but its very rarely someone slagging of the coverage?

It was me posting on my phone :D So just a case of bad english on my part as I never reviewed what I was typing of saw the sentence as a whole.

It was meant to read

"Also switched from o2 to 3 the moment I got a smart phone as I was like well this sucks no 3g/h signal hardly anywhere"

For all I know swype on my galaxy s thought when I put "as I" it was actually "and".

Just to clarify I love 3!

Haha, I was posting in the mobiles section couple of weeks before release that a big reason I wanted the new iphone was that the awesome new antenna would mean I would get a way better signal for browsing the web :p I have since changed from o2 to 3 and its the best, I can't believe how good it is. Get h or 3g everwhere, really impressed. if anyone is in a one month rolling contract I highly recommend trying out a one month 3 sim, hell just order one and then send it back within 14days if you wanted, nothing to lose but potentially a lot of h to gain ;)

Said the above on the 30th June! :p

3 tariffs are fantastic but signal and phone customer service is poor.

I did have a nice chat with women in a 3 store she was one of the most helpful store persons I have ever spoken to only downside was there signal program is very poor it was showing max signal in a lot of areas I know theres no signal.

Met a 3 network engineer about six months ago and he said pretty much the same thing.

But my problem is NOT a signal issue since I'm getting a full signal on my INQ mini (which is something since my samsung Z140V (on vodafone before they stole the remainder of my credit and blocked my SIM card) could just about get a 3G signal in my bedroom) it's a connection issue with it dropping out.

With the information you have supplied it is impossible to tell if this a handset fault or a network fault.

You get good signal but it occasionally drops out. On multiple phones that would mean an H3G cell network problem. On a single phone it is inconclusive.

Your phone signal issue is cleared by rebooting - this is not the first phone I have heard of that might have slightly dodgy radio firmware that fails to recover from a signal dropout until a reboot - some Android phones did it on earlier firmware. Still inconclusive.

Further, the WLM software is dodgy - which could indicate further issues with your phone. Still, this would be a negative for H3G since this is exclusive to them so presumably they developed the app in conjunction with the manufacturer.

Saying that, H3G might still be interested in your problems. It is either a faulty/poor quality handset/firmware or a network issue.

Is it me, or does visual voicemail not work on 3  - my iPhone 4 just calls the voicemail number :(

I had thought it was a phone issue but recently the connection has been coming back of its own accord since if I did get a connection drop I always log out (somehow it does seem to work although it does take some time) and wait to see if there is a signal blip (the signal will drop out for a fraction of a second then come back up) and leave it for a bit to see if there are anymore and try the browser to see if I can connect (I always use the my 3 or planet 3 options since they are free to use) and all the times it has happened as of late it has worked (a few of the times I've had to re-boot the phone is due to skype going a bit loopy after a login attempt when a connection drop has occurred and I've cancelled it).

Apart from that slight issue when everything is working it does what I want it to do (I started using it to do my internet banking since every top up gets 150MB free mobile internet usage and even if that had run out I'd only have to pay 50p for around 120MB of internet usage for a day which I don't get on orange).

switched to 3 from o2 4 months ago and had no issues with connectivity, so far i'm a happy chappy.
