I have my current setup of Asus M4N82 Deluxe, 8GB Crucial BallistiX PC6400 CL4, 3x GTX 470 and a Phenom II X6 1090T.
But I'm experience random freezes etc. It used to be gone when I updated my BIOS and got som new GFX's (from 3 gtx280's to 3 gtx470's) - but now after 4months, it's coming back. The problem is that sometimes when I exit 3D programs etc. the whole system will freeze, and I have tried reinstalling etc and more but it still appears randomly and now I've grown annoyed and irritated by it.
Originally I wanted to get a MSI NF980-G65 motherboard, but it's impossible to find in Europe and the few places I found one they don't and won't ship to Denmark.

So I'm looking for a system change that can handle 3-way SLi and won't cause me to go bankrupt - so I've come up with the following

ASUS P7P55 WS SuperComputer £177

Intel Core i5 760 2.8GHz £162

GeIL 4GB 1333 DDR3 GeiL CL9 Kit2 GV34GB1333C9DC retail £77,23

Zalman CNPS 10 Flex £33,27

Total £450

Will this be an ok replacement for my current setup ? or is it a performance loss I'm heading for ?

Swapping to intel isn't going to fix your current problems. Although, if the ram is faulty (generally the cause for freezes/bsod at stock settings), then changing to new ddr3 may actually resolve the problem.

If windows is knackered, then again changing hardware isn't the answer. If it's a graphics driver problem, which is fairly likely since you're trying to use three cards at once, then again changing the motherboard or processor isn't going to help.

have you tried running with a single card etc to rule out a bad one and running everything @ stock.

If your set on change then get the i5 750 and save a bit of money as most if not all will do 4ghz.

i'd also swap the zalman cooler for a titan fenrir aswell due to them being proven the best budget air cooler

My windows is a genuine Vista 64bit premium sp1 - I'm not sure it's a GFX driver problem, but it's very odd it suddenly appears after 4months of no problems I think.

The problem is that I'm using an AMD + nVidia combo' and there only Asus M4N82 Deluxe and MSi NF980-G65 available ... and since I can't get any of them, I don't really have much of an option :(

Yea, one, two, three cards - It can still be random. All is running stock (don't OC).
The Ci5 750 is not available anylonger and the Ci5 760 has replaced it in the price range (costs the same).
The Zalman I chose since it's available from the same store where I'd order it all from and save some cash on shipping.

can you even do 8x8x8x on any i5 board?

your probably going to end up with a severely crippled 3way sli rig

It does 16x8x8 since it has the NF200 nvidia chip.

This is incredibly unlikely to be the problem. But hey, since you've already diagnosed the fault, you don't need advice. Go buy whatever you like.

No I think you need to "re-read" that statement. The "problem" is that there are just two boards on the market that supports AMD's X6 and 3-way-SLi, but none of them are available... so I can't really do anything than swapping platform all together.
