Unusuall noise 5850?

Is it usual for my Asus 5850 HD GPU to make a small low buzzing sound when it is under strain? Just wondered as I've only just got it and noticed when I'm playing a graphics hungry game the noise starts. Its not the most annoying thing in the world but I'm not used to these things.

i would say its the fan speeding up when its getting warmer(under strain)

Sounds like capacitor squeal to me. Mine does it when it's rendering in the high hundreds of frames per second. The Crysis loading screen always causes it without fail.

Have a look at the fan when its moving to see if the cards case is not touching it as can happen when first installing in a tight case

Do you hear it when the FPS count goes into the hundreds (like loading screens) and when the GPU is under stress (like Furmark)?

Cap squeel is quite normal but annoying!

Can't see anything touching the case, so as d_brennen states its probably just a normal squeel! I only notice it when its defeinately being used and possibly under stress.

On mine it was the PSU, i had an OCZ 1000W...Best way is run the card with load and detect with case open...
