Just wondering if I can get rid of this stupid Vodafone update by doing a hard factory reset on my phone.

Stupidly I accepted the update without properly reading what it was and plus VF haven't actually advertised what the update does. I am furious with them
Anyway, will my phone literally be restored to the state it was when I took it out of the box? I don't mind having to re-install everything and I have backed up all my messages / contacts etc.

Thanks

If you dont mind reinstalling everything and have backed up everything whats the problem?

Ive always made sure mine has scheduled check for updates unticked, im guessing yours is a stock desire?

Thanks for the answer, So I guess it's now time to just wait for someone at XDA or the like to release something to be able to flash over it.

It was stock from VF when it first came out and this update from them has added loads of branding and other items. People on the VF forum are fuming to say the least.
I'd rather just go back to how it was than have all this rubbish on there. They have added nothing of value.

Ah right that explains why your fuming then to go from a unbranded phone to a phone with loads of branding, i guess it'll be a waiting game till someone figures out to reroot

It's not just branding, it's included some very annoying bugs like duplicating all SMS messages you have.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention that one! I'm sure there are more, but I have yet to find them

Been on the phone to HTC and they have confirmed for definite as per Mr. Paul, that a reset will not get rid of this.

Looks like I will be rooting it later then
