Hi guys,

I'm after a new project. I am looking for a small car which can be restored easily, parts easy to find and something that can be made quick or have a reliable engine from another car.

I have been looking at tax exempt and other classic minis. It can easily fit in my garage and i can still work on it and walk around the whole vehicle with ease. That is a big thing.

I have owned 2 old mini's before and they are great!

Any other cars people could suggest?

I wouldn't want to spend anything over £1500.

Thanks.

What about an old honda? Something like a EF9. Then you can always B16, B18 or even K20 it.

Fun
Old
Millions of parts aviable.

Mg midget/ triumph sprite, parts are cheap and available for just about any area of the car, Also if you head down the frontline developments root you can upgrade just about every vital component, they also do a engine swap to a rover k series, which can be tuned to 200+bhp, giving 0-60 in about 4.6secs.

Also if you feel mad you can fit a full sebring style kit and get the weight even lower.

Minis are great (I had 3 in the past), but I do find them over priced these days, but talk to local club members and forums and you could pick up a bargain.

I always liked fast Morris Minors, there used to be someone I knew with a V8 Moggy that looked standard (ish) and you have so much more room under the bonnet than a Mini.
