I do a lot of web design and standard office work but that doesnt matter. I also do a fair bit of gaming. all FPS games atm am playing the older gamers on steam but looking to play the new medal of honors and stuff like that. which card would be better

MSI GeForce GTX 460 Cyclone 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £199.99
(£170.20) £199.99
.
HIS iCooler V ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £211.49

Will be ordering tomorrow so any help would be brilliant thanks

5850 is slightly better and in the case of the above two, only £11 more. 460 can be OC'd to compete with a 5850 but if you were going to do this it would make more sense to go with one that is around the £180 mark as you'd then be saving £30 odd which would give you more bang per buck.

The GTX460 is a decent effort, but its no competition for a HD5850. Apart from a few oddball results you couldn't consider them in the same leauge as each other.

I sometimes wonder where you get your figures from... even TPU show the GTX460 generally in the same ballpark as the 5850 IIRC only their dirt2 results show a massive gap in all other tests its within a few %. The 5850 is the overall better card sure but to say they aren't in the same league is laughable.

and you can add the Guru3d, Toms hardware, Bit-tech, Techspot, Tech Rader, legit reviews and Techtree reviews. All show the 460's trading punches with the 5850.

Techpowerup benchmarks Dirt 2 in DX9  which may explain the difference in results to other sites, as for a 5850 or 460, you can't go wrong with either, be happy in knowing either card will perform superbly.
