Basically going on a holiday ( rented a bungalow with 6 ppl, it's 1.5-2 hr drive and we go by car with 2 cars) tomorrow with mates for a week, and wondering what you guys would take with you apart from the usual money/documents/money/clothes/telehpone+acc/toiletries, see if I forgot something and perhaps idea's what to take with me :).

Laptop and lots of music. That's it really.

One of my mates takes laptop purely to dump pictures on, I won't take one to try to stay away from the internet & games.

20 GB of music on my Phone + Spotify Premium on my telephone... Will be taking a small 2.1 set, a mobile speaker on a battery, and a set of headphones ( earplugs) for it.
Also got an 8gb usb stick in my car with most of the music I usually listen to so I can always retreat to that if I crave some good loud music :).

So I'm sorted on the music bit :).

Well, if it's only a 1.5-2hr drive away like you say, then anything you forget, you could always drive back and get if it's important

I'd really not fancy wasting 30€'s of petrol and 3 hours because I forgot something, it's not like it's nothing :p.

Booze, bog roll, toothbrush, toothpaste.

In that order... Anything else is a luxury. (Take a camera for the luls if no one else has one.)

A few changes of clothes (I often do some washing when away), cash, travel docs, personal phone (it has music on it too, and never take my work phone), lots of books.

It means I can put all the stuff on the overhead compartment on a plane which is ideal.

If i'm driving somewhere then I allow myself a few more items.

I'd never take a laptop with me - it's a holiday.

The extras are a camera, music player, books, games, a few CDs and DVDs. No laptops as I’m not going on a nerd’s holiday.

I find a laptop invaluable for booking the next nights accommodation, or finding stuff in the local area etc. Wouldn't go without one.

If you've got a smartphone then you can do most of it via it, however the choice depends how long and what type of holiday you're going on. For a few days I'd probably leave the laptop at home, if it's for longer than that I'd often be tempted to take the laptop for watching DVDs as well.

You should take Risk incase it pours it down, though you will end up having an awful holiday and come home hating each other.
