Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Coolermaster HAF 922 Case with Window - Black

Asus M4A785TD-V Evo AMD 785G (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard

Corsair TX 650W ATX SLi Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650TXUK)

yeah this is a good gaming on the cheap, if you easily build it yourself it is a good thing, but if you are a slight novice i.e. first build, it will be a hard time building it yourself.

it took me 4 hrs to build my computer and it doesn`t work right, i can`t get a picture from the graphic card to the monitor...

not sure if you want to upgrade the cpu cooler. could be a good thing for keeping the cpu cooler under a strain.

hd 5770 are the norm now, but a 5850 or 5870 will keep you futureproof for a few more year, but if you aren`t bothered too much about the graphics, this is the way to go. cheap as well for about £120-30

Thanks for the speedy reply. Sorry to hear your pc doesnt work right :(. Iv watched countless video's on how to build pc's, part recommended etc, think im about ready to plunge in!.

I was concerned as to whether i would need a modular power supply and had a lot of trouble finding one at 650w for a good price, any suggestions on that?

I dont plan on doing any overclocking at all so i think the stock cooler should be able to handle it. I may upgrade in the future though :)

Thanks again

I'd keep the Corsair 650. Corsairs are good, and all you need is a little cable management. If you can afford a 5850 (£100 more), I'd get that. Or a GTX 460, with no option for crossfire. 3rd party cooler definitely something to consider for noise and efficiency.

I got told i should match it on 1333MHz, as the motherboard wouldnt need to be overclocked to run this

If no overclocking, then stock cooler should do as well :)

Yeah im thinking about the 5850 GPU, the cooler il think about when i get the build done and i'll see what i want to get out of the system. So this is a defo good build?

i have to agree, i have got a corsair 650, it is a pain to use in my case, as the ps is at the bottom, and everything else is a t the top, but saying that the case i use is a great cooler, and good cable managment to a degree.

I was just thinking about the length of the cables to the motherboard if i route them around the back from the bottom of the case.

Oh another thing, i have my own 700gb harddrive from my pc, but would i need any sata cables for it?

Its' really easy to build PCs just take your time, read the isntructions and think before you do and remeber that youtube (and these forums) are your friends!

That machine will do just fine for anything.

1680x1050

a 5770 should be fine at that res as they struggle anything above that if your still thinking of one, Most of your power cables will reach but you may need an extension on the 4/8pin on the motherboard and they can be had fairly cheap and you will get atleast one sata cable with your motherboard

Just echoing what has been said, that is all fine, but a better GPU would last longer.

A 5850 is obviously quite a price jump, I would certainly take a look at the GTX 460 though.

Was going to say something about XMPs, but I think that is Intel proprietary tech...

Got this rig up and running, i am unable to log into windows live messenger. Keeps coming up with error code 81000306. I have tried reloading it and it is still the same, any ideas?
