At the top end of the scale it's pretty much a given that SLI scales better then Crossfire with this generation of cards, mid/high range (HD5770/GTX460) it's a bit more even. Nvidia may have struggled with the hardware side of things but there driver team has at least given them the edge in multiple video card setups. There's a review over at Anandtech just the other day, I suggest you have read.

Has been discussed over and over...
Buy 480GTX SLI and you will need a new PSU costing £200ATI on the other hand is A ok with a normal 750w psu
gtx 460 sli is even with 5770 cfx ??? according to hardocp gtx 460 sli beats 5850 cfx and for less money

*runs away*
Wow look at the 5870 go![]()
Yeah it seems to me that the nividia cards are better in SLI, but only at the higher resolutions (which you should be running if you have such a big setup)
Again what these reviews fail to consider is a 5970 + 5870 CF set up, which is what is comparable in price and power consumption to a 480 SLI setup
yeah but for that price you could also get 470 tri-sli which easily beats 5970 + 5870 CF
