New car (nothing interesting!)

You say they were the only cars in your area but why in your autotrader link did you filter it from 3k min to 4k max. There are cheaper ones on there.

I'm sorry, I have looked at every post in this thread, could someone kindly point me in the direction of the punchline please?

Ouch. My 52 plate Astra 1.6 SXi was barely £2k and that was back in November 2008! Granted, it wasn't the most perfect example ever by any means (but then it was/is my first car), but even the tidier Astras and Focuses were only around £500-800 more, and that was nearly two years ago. £3.5k for a very ordinary 2002 Focus these days is ridiculous.

I am crown price Omagonalogi and I need to get my fathers inheritance out of the country. Please let me have your bank account details and I will send half of the money for you to keep, via Western Union.

My mate has just purchased a mint ST170 with 12 months warranty & 6 months tax, nothing needing spraying or replacing for the same amount you bought that for.

Don't normally like to put people down on their purchases, however that is not a good deal!

Is this not a wind up then? Had all the hall-marks of one?

I was chuckling at when the OP linked to Autotrader showing 1.6 Focii near him as proof they where all expensive, but had set the minimum price to £3K, removing that restriction, you get a raft of good cars for ~£2.5K within 5 miles, http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/...6/price-to/4000/price-from/1000/sort/priceasc

If it's a wind up, I'm shocked people took the bait so easily, if it's real, well, there is a reason Dealers charge ludicrously inflated prices, namely there is always someone daft enough to buy them at that price..
