Well, rather unexpectedly I'm left in a situation that means I will be moving out of the parent's home, and into my own in a few weeks.
While earning around £20k running a 25mpg car that likes to break down for fun is fine while living with the 'rents, unfortunately not with all the bills of my own place on top of that!
So in spite of the fact I love the 620ti, it has gone, to be replaced with a massively boring Rover 600 diesel. It's saving grace is that it's the SLDi version, which means it has quite a few options (2nd from top of the line).
- Air conditioning
- Recaro interior
- Headlamp washer jets
- All round electric windows
- It isn't broken
On the plus side it was cheap, and for it's 155k miles is in good condition.
And best of all, it runs on this:
60p / litre for fuel, and 50mpg
I noticed an odd noise coming from the cambelt area, so went to pick up a tensioner and idler, as well as a new belt. Easy job to replace, as you don't need to lock any pulleys (fuel pump is driven from the cambelt, so provides a good 'lock').
Turns out the tensioner was seized, and the idler had a real roughness to it too!
Haynes and 6 sided sockets:
Nice new tensioner fitted, this one isn't seized.
Will update as work goes on
