Addicted to food and getting bigger!!

Iv been putting on a lot of weight recently, gone from a 32" waist to a 36" over the last year. I mean dont get me wrong, its been gradual, and im not obese or anything. Im just under six foot so i dont look THAT bad either. But daaaaym i can feel it! Any i definally feel annoyed every morning when i relise that less and less of my clothes fit me!

And after thinking long and hard i have relised that i am actually addicted to eating and drinking! I actually do it all the time. And i cant stop! I just love food and drink to much! Naturally the 'nice foods' and drinks are not exactly the healthy options! Plus i work in a buffet restaurant so im always eating and drinking at work to!

Just wondering if others get this to.... Gota be a common thing right?! You just have a snack or another cup of tea because your bored or it just feels normal as apposed to actually being hungry or thirsty?!
 
Exercise some self control, that's all it is going to take if you're aware of what you're doing, stop it now before you REALLY have to put in some hard work to loose the weight.

Do you exercise? If you did then you would have a bit of leeway with the amount of 'treat' food you can eat.
 
I find it hard to understand this mentality toward food, because my own is so neutral. I get no real enjoyment from it but don't dislike eating most food, I'm not fussy. It's just refuelling for me, bit of a hassle.

Sounds like it may be a habit you've fallen into rather than an addiction? Just think before eating, do you really need to eat? Count calories if you prefer a more accurate/scientific approach.

I am also addicted to food, I can't help it.

I try to counter balance this by going to the gym. Now it is really annoying me and I shall be stopping it and gyming it more!
 
Exercise some self-control, just eat three times a day, stop the snacks and stop pouring alcohol down your throat. Simples. ;)
 
Blackmail yourself.

Take an embarrassing topless photo of yourself looking rather fat and give it to a trusted friend. If in 3 months time you look the same or worse, have them post it on these forums.
 
Set yourself a goal, I think that will help and remember, nothing tastes as good as being slim feels, gah!

This statement makes sense when you come to the terms that when a person becomes fat, they loose the right to call them self a person :D


I've gone up from 28 to 32 inch waist and feel I should loose some, so I'm going to start boxing training come September, did a couple of sessions before term broke up and it was the best exercise I've ever done.
