anyone know an MP3 that works properly?

Wtf is so good about the interface? Is it because EVERYONE has one so knows how to use it or what? I hate the stupid wheel thing on them... Having said that the Creative Vision M I had was awful to navigate, but all the other players I've had all have excellent UI's which were easy to use and logical.

Another thing I can't stand about the ipod is all those ****** dock things that everyone seems to have with crap speakers on them. Argh, if I go to another house party where the music is provided by one of them I'll smash it up :( What's so wrong about smacking it into the hifi with a 3.5mm to phono lead.

The interface really is great, maybe its because my device is only 8gb, so the amount of albums I an have on it is limited, but coverflow is a great way to find an album I want to listen to, even while walking at the same time. It's the wheel that makes it work so well.

Really, my iPod is never off the coverflow screen. It starts on that, it gets turned off on that. For me it has been the exact definition of a tool for the job. It gets used daily, has never needed turning off in 3 years and simply gets recharged in about 2 hours via a pc when its battery finally gets to the last red blob. It has played everything I have thrown at it via Winamp (admittedly all MP3s although a mixture of CBR and VBR).

I agree re: accessories, it's things like that, that drive people who know about computers away from Apple products and lets us see them for what they are, marketable toys for rich folk. I just think that the iPod itself, specifically the nano, is genuinely a little diamond amongst the crud.

I've been considering getting the Cowon J3. I have a question regarding the external memory slot, can I just put in a SD card and it will pick up any media on it just like that? If that's the case surely it's cheaper to buy an 8Gb version and pick up a cheap SD card too?

unlike creative, I think cowon has it in one....

yes you can they are about £180 for 8Gb

Oh and the fact the headphones are louder on the outside than the inside... makes me want to throttle people on the train.

Never used the orginal Ipod phones, always preferd Sony Headphones, but i know what u mean, the Trads on the way to work.

how long do sony headphones last I m only owned the once for the phone which was quite good non the less but since my current/next phone has a 3.5mm jack I can use a normal headset....

I used to have sans CX300II but they died after 2 months

My last pair of Sonys were pretty good for 25 squid, I ditched them when I got my Samsung pixon, it had really good headphones for a freebee, but now I've got an HTC, the headphones they supply are like something from a Pound shop, utterly carp.

I don't like Sony gear as a rule, but some of thier headphones are pretty damn good for the money.

I Still don't know what ppl do to their Sennheiser CX300s. I hear so many times that the originals and the mark II's are great for the money except they break within a few months.

Well I had a pair of CX300s for two years, they were used every day, never treated well, always wrapped around the player and stuffed in my pocket etc. They were still fine when i got the upgrade itch and bought a pair of CX300 IIs, which I have now had for well over a year, treated them the same and they are still perfect!

Is it possible lots of people have fallen victim to the huge amount of fake imports floating around?

I only ever buy them from a reputable seller (i.e. if its from the rainforest then make sure it is SUPPLIED by them and not some third party). I also paid less than £15 for each of them.

I still recommend them whenever asked. Fairly bassy sound, but for the price they are really superb, and they block out/in sound very well too.

i treat mine rather well...tbh I did tend to use them in all weather and condictions which probley killed em, they do work but one side sounds like the wire is going....

I got mine from a trusted retialer I don't think I can mention them but they are not in the same group as the purples (DSGi) I could take them back under warrenty but I don't fancy travling... so there are the proper stuff, I too have heard they tend to break.

they was very good when working, sounded amazing, very bassy can't hear anyone with em ethoir..better than noise cancalstion
