Its Ok but your going to experience bad slow downs at times, maybe overclocking the Q6600 will help a bit. 3 gig should boost the figures a bit :)

I'm waiting for my RMA to return my other 2GB Ram...

My cpu was pre-overclocked when I bought it (from OCUK) but I reset the bios by accident do you think OCUK will support me to get it back how I bought it? or can someone else help me?

A 3870x2 ain't so bad...I just came from dual 3870s to a single 5770 and performance is pretty similar! I saw Mass Effect 2 on a 6600GT the other day (2004/2005?) and it was *dire*!

Looks like a 2 -3 year old rig to me. :) Try and overclock your cpu to 3.0 gig, should do it no probs. Just change the fsb value.

Can you go through that with me because I bought it @ 3.2 and used it for a few years without any problems but then I reset the bios with I regret now.

Surely it can't be easy.

More importantly, I want to hear about this time machine! How did you get a 3870X2 5 years ago?

Well, of course I don't know what special settings were in place when you bought it so 'normally' I would just change the fsb, which at 2.4 is (iirc) 266. Change this from 266 to 333 to make it run at 3.0 gig. You can have a play around with the numbers there and it will tell you what it will be set at before you go ahead and save and exit.

Obviously I got the year wrong maybe it was 2-3 years but can someone still help me?

was it the abit ip35 pro build? if so ocuk should have saved the oc profile in the bios, i hope its this motherboard , not sure if other motherboards saved profiles like this also
