So what exactly are the ATI CrossFireX™ Application Profiles

Good question, I have wondered about this for a while.
How do they work? Do you need CCC installed for them to take affect? I use tray tools and Afterburner so would these work for me?

But I thought the beauty of x-fire is that it didn't need special profiles unlike SLI ?

And what about my 90% of my games that instantly know i'm x-fired up? By putting the logo on the screen? So what are they 'further' optimised?

Where did you hear that.
Not every game needs a specific profile but a specific profile my further performance.
