5DMKII video length - I'm sure it's a simple question...

But my Google skills are failing me...

Does anyone know how long the 5D MKII can record video for at 1920x1080 at 24fps?

I know there is a 4GB limit but I can't seem to translate that into minutes and seconds. :(

Thanks! :)

I'm sure the manual says its roughly 12 mins for a 2gb card and 24 min at 720p. This is going from memory though ;)

I did think of the manual then I thought that it wouldn't include 24fps so wouldn't be accurate.

It's about 5mb per second.
By my dodgy maths, that makes it out to be just over 13 minutes...that'll do.

Thanks to you both! :)

from wiki

Movie clips can be up to 4 GB in size, approximately 12 minutes of 16:9 HD (1920x1080) or 24 minutes of 4:3 SD (640x480) footage (depending on scene complexity). These limits stem from the 4 GB maximum file size supported by the FAT32 filesystem format used on Compact Flash cards. The camera also imposes a hard maximum clip length of 29 minutes 59 seconds if the 4 GB limit has not already been reached

Thanks for the post, it didn't even occur to me to look at Wiki - d'oh.

My new memory card came through today so I gave it a go and it came out at 12mins 23secs shot at 1920x1080 at 24fps.

Thought I'd update the info in case anyone happened to come across the thread looking for the same info. :)
