Well, I tried, BUT THEY DIDNT HAVE A BLOODY CARD MACHINE (No cash on me)

Atleast if I was spotted outside, I could say I went in to the wrong shop, realised it, and walked STRAIGHT back out

This TBQFH

Absolutely. I don't know if it's because I'm 30+ and am losing my hair (thus becoming more manly ;)) but the younger male generation seem to be getting gayer :p

All the recent talk of sun beds, hair straighteners, 'skinny' jeans and 'man bags' only serves to prove my point.

The OP loses 347 man points for even posting the topic! :D

It's gay. And you'll get cancer. Stop it.

The risk of cancer is stupidly overstated. The amount of 'OMG CANCER' posts astound me. You'd think sunbeds were illegal!

Smoking is far worse (but then again, you guys overstate the dangers of smoking to hell and back too, so all's fair I guess)

How is it going to give me cancer, you seem so sure of it? last time I went on them, I went on 5 seperate sessions for around 3-4 minutes and before that iv never done it

I have been in absolute countless number of times, sat topless in the sun for hours and hours on hot sunny summer months.

Oh and im cancer free:rolleyes:

I've not been before but have been tempted. I'm quite pale and as a result my skin gets blotchy, and all my lovely blemishes are very much on show. I imagine a little colour would help?

It has nothing to do with sexuality. And yes, it might have a heightened risk of cancer, but for some that risk is worth it.

i would never use a sun bed.
some of my mates have, but to be honest it seems very feminine to me

only tattie howkers get tans.

Haha, it's ages since I've heard the phrase tattie howker. Cheers. :D

It's not going to give you cancer immediately but it does increase the risk of getting skin cancer, the increase may be infinitesimally small each time but it's there. Whether you choose to pay any attention to that or not is up to you, personally the risk of burning would be more of a pressing concern than a small percentage increase in my chances of getting skin cancer.

there are studies as far back at the 1960s which prove that UV radiation is a cancer initiator
"any exposure to the initiator increases risk, and this risk increases indefinitely with higher levels of exposure"

and you are cancer free?
there are hunders of people who run red lights, drive over closed level crossings, play on train tracks - just because they have been lucky, does not mean that there is not any danger

i just want people to be well informed about the decisions they are making regarding their health.

UV radiation damages DNA by forming pyrimidine dimers which are mutagenic.
