I don't think it's possible?, I used a splitter box on my pc speakers which allowed me to choose between the 2.

Ya, theres a few ways.

The way I do mine, is my 360 goes out via HDMI to my monitor. Now, I then take the roginal lead that comes with the 360, pop the casing off, and then run the TOSlink cable out to the optical IN on my soundcard. This way my PC's sounds also come across the 360 (I have a vent server where we talk ****, I sometimes play my 360 waiting for people to get online to play a mans machine). Pics to come.

But again, using the supplied cable you can go with the phono connections, take a female phono to 3.5mm jack, and hit the audio in, again, youll need to pop the housing off the standard connector to allow room for the HDMI to plugged in ASWELL.

Or you can buy a cable that does standard output to your monitors VGA. Again it has phono so the female phono to 3.5mm jack would do it.

I use an xbox 360 to vga cable available from a large rainforest online. Has vga and the two sound outputs and i think it came with an adapter so you just need a female to female connector to plug in speakers/headset.

What kind of speakers are you using?

Also, did you get a connection that looks like this (8th picture down) with your xbox 360? I believe it comes standard with elites.

Holy bad pics batman!

But, basically, you cant have the HDMI and normal cable plugged into the xbox at the same time, but by popping the case open with a screwdriver (just put it in the joint at the side and twist) you CAN fit both in, giving you the HDMI output to your monitor, but allowing you the freedom of using the audio off the other cable.

Heres both cables plugged in.

And my attmpt to show you the mod on the cable.

But my Tocco is knackered :/ But alas, I have HDMI to my monitor, then optical out out to my PC's optical IN, then it reverts out to my PC's speakers/headphones. But if you dont have opti in, theres no reason you cant use female phono to 3.5mm jack to your audio input.

And incase your wondering, this is the female to 3.5 jack Im talking about.

The problem is, you cant have that cable AND the HDMI to DVI in together. Youll need to pop the case off that connector, plug both HDMI and that connector in. The run either the phono to 3.5mm jack to your audio in, or if like me you have a soundacrd with TOSlink in, run the audio over opti.

Yeah starting to understand that :( ... why cant things be so simple at times lol

Its probably my poor attempt at explaining it. But it is simple, you just need to see it.

Popping that case is easy, and theres probably a million kids done it on youtube. Look for it.

EDIT. Im not sure if we are allowed to post youtube vids.

But heres an annoying little American kid fannying about doing it.

Youll see him with 2 many tools doing it, all I did was with a large spade screwdriver, youll see him take one to the side after hes done pushing a smaller one down the tp. All I did was take the large spade head, pry it into the side, and twist, it popped the mounting open.

As you just have stereo speakers then I would suggest using that little connector you got with your console, plugging a cable like the one shown below (will cost you a few quid) in and then connect up your speakers to that.

If you want to change between PC audio and console audio you may want to get a 3.5mm stereo switch of some type (or just manually change the connection for free).

Have a google for "3.5mm stereo female, RCA male" (without quotes) or something similar and make sure that the connectors look like those in the above picture.
