Hi Ya,
I have an ATI Radeon HD 5870 card with latest drivers running under Windows 7 64 Ultimate edition.
When trying to play Blu-ray discs i get the following error dialogue :

"Cyberlink PowerDVD is not able to play the protected content om your digital output device. Switch to an analog output(VGA, D-Sub) and try again - (Code = 0110)"

I've run CyberLink BD & 3D Advisor and its fails on Video Connection type=Digital(without HDCP)

Can't get through to ATI for assistance, just get auto message saying my email address is not registered with them and don't know how to get it registered...
Any assistance gratefully recieved :):)
Regards
René

i had that on an ati card as well i think its a hdcp issue, try re installing the drivers

the card i had the issue with was when using the hdmi port but when i used an ati dvi - hdmi dongle it was fine.

its not an asus card by any chance is it ?

this dongle you mention are you sayin that the dvi port transmit picture aswell as sound?

Bluray discs need a HDCP compatible connection (DVI or HDMI sadly VGA is analogue and Content Protection is not supported) So you will need a DVI or HDMI cable into your monitor.

If your running this through HDMI then you shouldn't have any problems with HDCP. If your using DVI then you might encounter problems as not all DVI standards are compliant with HDCP so you need to double check what DVI connection you have and run it through google to see if it's compliant or not.

I had this issue on my Dell 3008WFP. The problem was the Dell doesn't support HDCP above 1920x1080 over dual link dvi but does over displayport (or lower res over DVI single link or VGA) So simply used the displayport cable which came with my LCD and plugged it into a mini display port adaptor which came with my 5970's. Problem sorted. Can watch BD movies upscaled to 2560x1600 now. This is 1 of the reasons I wont use an Nvidia card. I won't be able to watch BD movies on it the way I want as NV don't use displayport.

Thanks for that, but it seems it'll only work if I use the DVI out to the analogue connection to my monitor. I had exactly the same issue with my old nVidia GTX 275 card and this a major reason why i bought this card as I was led to believe that it was HDCP Compliant. Annoying as both new and up to date cards. I guess its not the end of the world to swap the monitor cables over to watch Blu-rays, but if it can be resolved I'd be a lot happier.....

Your not going to get full 1080p Blu-Ray working over that sort of connection that involves analogue unless you know a way to bypass HDCP on the fly in which case please share! So I’m sorry to say you were advised incorrectly, to watch any sort of Blu-ray film you need to make sure that your HDCP compliant from source to output.

Had a thought  Since the ATI card has HDMI out and AFAIK HDMI doesn't affect HDCP, I've ordered an HDMI to DVI cable (my monitor doesn't have an HDMI port) hopefully this'll work...... If it does or something blows up I'll post back here

They may work, you should have checked what DVI input your monitor takes to see if it's HDCP compliant, if it's not then it won't work but good luck. Generally newer screens all have DVI compliant input but it's work double checking before hand.

I get the sames issue/error message on my Dell 3008WFP when I am using the dual link DVI, all I do is to lower the resolution to 1920 X 1080 and reboot and then it plays OK.

I could use the displayport as suggested by Flanno, but I use that my Mac Book Pro
