Hey,

I posted a thread about my e63 dying on me and that i was after a cheap replacement but after talking to 3 if i go in and explain my phone is broken i may (wouldnt guarentee) be able to take out a new contract a bit earlier then normal (not due for upgrade till dec but it would be my 3rd long contract with them) but as i get my contract reimbursed through work im limited to £20 a month with no upfront cost (i could put towards monthly (but not upfront) but would prefer not too as i already have a second contract for my wife)

im limited to 3 as thats who my contract is with so browsing through the 3 site the ones in my budget are:

SE X10 Mini Pro
HTC Wildfire
HTC Hero
Samsung Galaxy Portal (is this andriod?)

my main 2 requirements are Wifi and GPS as i dont yet own a satnav, a great camera isnt too important aslong as it has one. must also be able to play games + emulators :)

they also do a couple of other but they start at £30/month and i dont really want to have to add to it unless its really worth it. also ive read a bit and id like it to be running (or able to run) Andriod 2.2 Froyo

Cheers

You dont have to upgrade through your Network.

Try Carphone Warehouse, you'll be able to upgrade through them, keep the same number on the same network and all their phones comes unlocked and unbranded.

would i be able to negotiate an early upgrade as easy with them though? since ive only spoke to the 3 store about it... suppose it cant help to try.

Edit: Just had a look on the site and there is still only the X10 mini pro and HTC Wildfire in my range but i suppose its always handy to have an unlocked phone

personally id always avoid places like cpw unless theres a big positive coming from it

three will give you 6months free mobile spotify which is nice too

all those phones are pretty similar tbh and id go take a look at them and have a play in your nearest shop

I'm impressed with my gf's Samsung Portal (given the price range), but spent a day trying to update it to 2.1, and just couldn't get it to work.
