Watercooling?

Hi all,

I currently have an i7 920 D0 overclocked to 4Ghz and a GTX480 that i'd like to overclock too. I am thinking to take a leap into a single loop watercooling system to help with CPU temps and to keep that George Foreman Grill of a GPU a bit cooler.

So I have a few questions; Firstly, how much maintence is required on a watercooling system? Does it need flushing, etc? Secondly, can someone recommend parts? Ideally wouldn't want to spend much more than £200-250, would this be enough? Or would I to spend more?

Thanks,

Andy

in terms of maintenance you'd probably have to replace the coolant every 12 months and clean out the rad every 6-12 months.

In terms of parts, you shouldn't be thinking about parts until you know a lot about watercooling.

see my post here, it contains links to lots of watercooling guides :)

once you start you cant stop he he

it'll cost more than £250 for a good loop

EK HF £50, EK GTX 480 £60, Laing D5 £75, Black Ice SR1 360 £65, EK 250 res £30, 8x 1/2" fittings ~£20, 3m of 1/2" or 7/16" tubing ~£10, silver coil + deionized water ~£10 or Fluid XP ~£18, 10x jubilee clips ~£5

so rough estimate comes to about £325, if you cheap out it'll still be about £265
