Two GTX 470 vs one 5970???

I am having a tough time trying to figure this out,

Yes i know about my previous Graphic cards post, but as i do more research about parts, i keep on changing my mind about what GPU card i will use.#

However i have made up my mind and it is either the GTX 470 in SLI or One 5970 for couple of weeks / months then i will ad another one for Crossfire?

which one will be better in terms of performace, obviouslly if i got two 5970 it will out perform the GTX 470 in SLi but for the price for one 5970 i can get two gx 470 in Sli for about another 40 quid.

470 SLI would smoke a 5970, but be much noisier and much warmer.

well dual 470's beats dual 5870s which beat the 5970

so yeah dual 470's are better

Tbh I would take a single GTX 470 over a 5970 anyway.

Dont even think about quad-fire the amount of problems you will get with the drivers will be horrendous.

SLI 470 would be a much better choice over a single 5970 anyway. Do you need the power of 2 5970's? Do you have 3+ monitors or a really high resolution monitor?

If you were going to get 2 470's I would either get the cheapest 470's available and stick a couple of Gelic icy coolers on them to reduce heat and noise or just get the Zotac AMP! edition.
