Does anyone have anything to say about the cheapest companies here?

I only really need insurance to be on the road and I'm willing to cut my losses if my car is written off, but I'm not sure about being stuck with a bunch of cowboys if I can help it.

Fair enough, but there aren't any horror stories that you know about the BGL Group or BISL Limited that you know of?

£1200 is comprehensive with £500+£150 excess. Those quotes in my picture up there were for TPFT.

That theory doesn't ring true with me at all, I have ALWAYS got precisely the same quote back direct as on comparison sites. If you want a cheap quote then you need to ring around tbh. I could never be bothered before but this year I saved a bunch just by picking up the phone.

Yes Peerzy. I was in two minds because I know I should probably get rid of the Golf as there is stuff wrong with it and it's just a crap car. But then I hardly use it, so sticking with it was probably the sensible option rather than blowing money on another car.

I used to ring around but I can't be arsed with the hassle of talking to sales people. I found I got cheaper quotes online and when they can't match it, they pass me from broker to broker. Balls to that.

I know driving through a wall didn't help, but I'm 27 soon with 2 years NCB. I thought things were meant to get easier! I blame my postcode and all them Arabs bringing supercars round.

Did you just call the main companies up? Or did you find some specialists?

WHAT.

You're 27 with 2 years NCB and you're paying £1200 with £650 excess to insure a Golf?

I'm 19 and next year with 2 years NCB I'll be looking at that sort of price to insure a 2L new Mondeo.

London sucks. Get out of there. Get out of there now. :o Or buy a push bike.

I just had quite a big insurance win.

Admiral renewal quote comes through: £775
Go on their website and run a quite: £652 ring them and they'll match this when I renew
phone their multicar department: £564

All price comparison sites were quoting me over £1.2k, as were Tesco and direct line :D

Im 30 odd, 7 years driving 6 years no claims yet the cheapest ST220 quote i can find is around 900 quid, or 750 with the addition of a parent.

Really was expecting better :)
