I loved the first three seasons but gave up on the show midway through the fourth (bad acting, too melodramatic, the 'gameshow' storyline dragged on far too long). Did the show get better in subsequent seasons? How do more recent episodes compare to those in the first three seasons?

Seaon four and five would below par to be honest. Season six, for me, was much improved and on a level with the first three seasons. Fantastic finale too!

Loved it till it went to sky, unforunately i aint got sky. Will probably just buy each series on dvd.

Is still great but did go through a bit of a lull for a while - was still good enough to watch during that time though.

Any House fans in?

See sig :p

I've thoroughly enjoyed all six seasons so far - I thought the end of season five and the start of season six were both extremely well written given how they explored his addiction and the effects it has on him and others that surround him.
The Cuddy / House relationship is one I think will be explored further come the new season in Sept. I also think the situation with 13's Huntington's disease will develop in the coming season. I cant say as though there's any particular season or episode I've disliked, as has been stated earlier season 4 was written during the writers strike which caused one or two issue's but everything got back on track well enough :)

IT was great, but they pounded the living hell out of the "he can't be right, he's on drugs"

or "he can't be right, because he hasn't got morals and he doesn't care"

or "he can't be right, because I don't want to be house"

or "he can't be right, because he was wrong, once, when we forced him to go off drugs"

Meh, it got old quickly and I can't stand Foreman, and his character makes no sense, basically every important time, he's been wrong, every single time, he's killed people, he's got the angry thing, he's always wrong, he's stuck up, he constantly bangs on about not being like House, despite being a much worse person, as an actor he constantly does the cringe "angry face", to show anger, happyness, hornyness, love, sadness, etc, etc.

As a doctor he should have been fired so long ago its a joke, yet they keep putting him in charge, and taking it away and rehiring him and firing him and giving him a team and then taking it away.

Thats mostly why series 4/5 was crap, Foreman out of the show years ago would have made everything much better.

Also though they've writen him coming off the drugs very well in series 6, its because apparently the drug enforcement agency said they really didn't like a doctor being soo good while on drugs as its a bad message, so they had him flip out on drugs then get better when off them.

I hate that too. There's a two parter in Season 2 (Euphoria) where Epps has to act like he's in serious pain. He looks like he's trying to birth the world's biggest turd. He's awful.

Season 1 was brilliant and Season 6 returns to form slowly over the course of it, I thought it went downhill towards the end of Season 2 and hit a low point around the end of Season 4/start of Season 5.

I hope they give it a reboot for Season 7 and go back to what made it good.

love it all, season 4 was the weakest but the finale was sublime, they really seem to pull out all the stops for the finales.

Just a reminder to other fans that Season 7 will air on Fox Sept 20th. There's also appisodes with Nurse Jeffrey that can be seen here:
