Just about to get a new graphics card. It will be at least a 5750 and quite possibly a 5770 or GTX 460. I'll be gaming at 1920x1080.

I'm looking for good single player games, FPS's mainly. I love UT2004 and still play it even now. Also, I enjoyed Oblivion but didn't really like Fallout 3. I was considering the Orange Box but doesn't it have to be installed from Steam? I'm using PAYG mobile broadband for the time being so that rules out massive downloads from there.

I'm open to suggestions.

Arkham Asylum and Mass Effect 2 are excellent. Devil May Cry 4 was also brilliant, it probably works best with a controller though. Modern Warfare may be famous for the multiplayer, but the single player was pretty good as well. Same for MW2 (dons flame-retardent suit). Aliens vs Predators was pretty good as well (you will **** bricks when they come out of the walls!)

As soon as you get back to a decent internet connection, get the Orange Box. HL2 and Portal are amazing.

Yes. Is that a problem?

Just don't fancy paying £15 for every 3GB I download really.

Cheers guys. I've seen Crysis is only around a fiver brand new. is that worth a go? MW2 is one that's been on my list. I'm not familiar with 'The Witcher'. I'll check it out now.

You can install from the disk, it just needs to activate on steam. There will be updates of course but especially, if you just install one game at a time, they won't be that big.

FarCry. Yes, it is old, but a great SP game imo. :)

Saw it for £1.99 yesterday in a high street game shop! :) I loved it when I played it ages ago. Never did quite finish it though. Is Crysis MUCH better graphically because at the time Far Cry looked absolutely stunning.

thought you could DL it for free with a few ads in

What's the story about having to have 'an always on' internet connection whilst playing Assassin's Creed?

UBISOFT DRMs - not sure if the 1st AC required constant internet connection, but the second one does. Upset fans actually brought their servers down to show how pointless this form of DRM is. Alongside the fact that UBI never released the PC version of PoP DLC, this is the reason I refuse to buy anything they release until they change their stance towards the PC community.
