Wearing sannys to a wedding?

LOL who has regular court appearances? He hasn't had any, he is a good boy and yes, he wore black trainers to a job interview and he still got the job so ****s on all ya'll MUST WEAR SMART SHOES EVERYWHERE1!!!11!!! thing. And he looked very nice and smart today in his 'sannies' (its a Hull regional thing cause everyone else in Hull I met today calls them that too!! And you people saying sandwiches, thats SARNIES SAAAAAARNIES. With an R. So yeah)

Don't matter if its 1 or a 100 court appearances, weddings, or interviews it wouldn't even cross my mind to wear trainers or 'sannys'

In fact I have a pair of shoes which are only used once or twice a year at most for this exact reason, only cost something like £30-35 and will last forever given the handful of times they are worn so cost really doesn't come into it.

I have to say, I have looked for new shoes recently and they are all painful o wear in one way or another! I finally went for some from M&S and while they felt fine in the shop, they had low coverage/padding on the back of the heel and to walk from the tram to the station or be on your feet all day was a really painful, blister inducing experience. I now have to wear 2-3 pairs of socks to avoid any pain. And at the first opportunity I will take them off, even at work when I'm at my desk I don't wear my shoes.

If you get yourself a good pair of shoes they won't hurt your feet. I feel my shoes are comfier than most of my trainers.

2 of my mates wear them for out on the town. One's 47, the other's 37.

Absolute plonkers, trying to be cool like the schoolkids.

I wear them as I have very wide feet.
The Clarks wide fit shoes aren't wide enough and are uncomfortable, although of course I have a pair for smart occasions, although they're bloody ugly.
The canvas shoes stretch well, and wear in a smart way, whereas other shoes just seem to wear out rather than wear in, only problem is they're a b****** to walk in sometimes when you're in a rush.

"Hey guyz, I bought these shoes for a wedding, what do you think? I'm going to wear them anyway and completely ignore everyone's advice"

And if they're called "Sand Shoes", I think a more appropriate word for them would be "Sandies". When I looked at the title, I thought "WTF, wearing sanitary towels to a wedding???????"

Oh and..... £35 for that junk??

IMO there's nothing wrong with the shoes, it's the fact that you shouldn't wear them to a wedding. I own various trainers, plimsols, shoes, boots etc - but I wouldn't wear my hiking boots for 5-a-side, or the trainers to go mountain climbing - wear these for day to day and buy some shoes. If you're not going to wear them often, get some from Asda (George) or similar - they'll drop to bits after 5 wears, but if that's over 10 years it doesn't matter and they're only around a tenner.

Lol at the people who thought I spent £35 on the sannys! No they was £3 if you re-read it says the shoes I was going to get was £35.

Anyways nobody said anything about my shoes and wedding went smooth. I didn't know a single person there apart from my girlfriend, sisters, mum and Auntie/New Uncle and two cousins.

I didn't have a choice anyways I already ran out of money after buying my SSD (coming tomorrow woo) so was worth looking a bit odd

Going to buy some proper shoes soon when I find some that arn't butt ugly.

If I was the groom I would punch you square in the face. Actually, even if I were the bride I'd still punch you square in the face.

And I had to look at the picture to know what Sanny's are. Kids these days

Not really a cheapskate when I got a better PC than you lolz

Shame on you, unless the wedding is yours then you should make an effort for the bride and groom. Sometimes you might have to wait off on the new computer part to look presentable.

No one was ever going to kick up a fuss about it but that doesnt mean they were happy about it.

I hope your SSD blows up and ironic wedding confetti pours forth from the hole in your pc!

Already been waiting for it and computers come first that's why I'm on a computer forum not a wedding forum.

So basically, you knew more than a single person there.
